A friend of mine used large vases with colored glass pebbles at the bottom and $0.13 goldfish from the pet store inside them.  It was alot of fun to watch the fish swimming around while we waited for our turn at the buffet.  She also let the children take them home at the end of the reception!

I am a maid of honor in charge of finding centerpiece ideas for the reception. My best friend is getting married on the beach but the reception is inside. I know I want to do something with sand, colored rocks and maybe hurricane vases but I need help. Does anyone have pics or ideas that can help? Oh yeah, the wedding color is oasis!

I'm getting married on the beach with an indoor reception and found the idea to collect old wine bottles then buy a wine bottle cutter online (need patience!) for like $40. I've decided to use them as different types of votives, with sand/candles/sanddollars/etc...

Love the goldfish idea! I'm getting married at the zoo and am trying to come up with an animal something theme...ugh.

My fiancee is an exotic hibiscus fan - he has hundreds, so they will be on the tables.  They don't need water.  Any ideas on how best to arrange these or to make them look stylish!  I don't know where to start, I must admit.  I think it will need something other than just the flowers, although they are beautiful.  I haven't decided whether to have white tablecloths or the bare woven cane tables as it's a beachside wedding.  Would love some creative opinions.  Alas I was born without a creative bone in my body.  Not handy for planning a wedding!

I like the cranberry and candle and I thought that pomegranates would work well too, especially since they are the fruit of love!  Too bad there aren't more photos in this post though!

I like the natural suggestions.  I was also thinking of taking a hike in the area and looking for inspiration along the way - maybe bark, rocks, etc.

we used old milk bottles.  and not ones we bought at a thrift store - ones we actually drank the milk out of!  a local dairy farm sells their milk in local grocery stores.  we used the bottles as vases.  it was a nice touch.
