great point apax - there needs to be balance in planning!!!

i dont believe in bridezilla at all - whiney bridezilla behavior is only a manifestation of that person's personality.. i think some girls think it's ok to be a hot mess and act crazy just "b/c i'm the bride - and what i say is law"

being a bride gives nobody an excuse to be a brat - it's the brat who is "ok" with behaving badly imo

and really - arent we all too old be acting this way????   =)

I agree with your point DIRTY, this is a person who is already a brat and feels entitled.  I try to keep in mind other people's feelings when asking for help or giving instructions, I may have crossed the line once (slightly) but my bridal party has no problem telling me to chill out.

I've sort of hit that Bridezilla moment when it comes to a cousin of mine (who previously believed in no marriage) decides she wants to up and marry a guy she only talks to on the phone and plan hers close to my wedding date. I just lost it. I told her you're not hording in on my time and my happiness! I feel she's only saying she's getting married because I am and everyone is happy; so she wants the same attention.

Haha Selena05. I feel that way too.

By all means I am the most laid back person. However, sometimes when communicating with vendors through emails can sometimes cause a misunderstanding. Leading me to become a fire breathing bride to be.

lol i'm trying to step back and take deep, non firey breaths right now!! can we add to the list of triggers,
realizing after choosing your colors that you want tangerine when the rest of the world seems to revolve around burnt orange, and even the "tangerine" looks a bit more "salmon" to you and you refuse to have a fishy wedding.
lol... i'm laughing about it now because i still have 4 months. but i feel a melt down coming on! :|

solution . . . tivo Bridezillas on WE network, grab a couple bottles of wine, invite your bridesmaids over and enjoy!  nothing will make you feel more ridiculous than watching other people melt down over such "trivial" things :-)  plus, it should keep you in check!

Frankly, I find it demeaning/patronizing to define a person a Bridezilla just because she is not satisfied with a service a vendor provides. Because weddings are often big productions, averaging $30,000 or more, it's only normal for a bride to want not just value for her wedding but exactly what she wants.

I also find it extremely unprofessional for wedding pros to say "don't focus on details, something WILL go wrong". Try to go to a surgeon and see how you like it when he says "don't worry, it won't be perfect! For sure, something will go wrong". Alternatively, try buying a car, not getting the color or interiors or accessories you wanted for that price and see if the salesman dares calling you a client-zilla. They do not. And they do not because they are professionals.

As a wedding planner and a bride-to-be I can attest that it is extremely hard to find a wedding pro who doesn't try to railroad your wedding into something you don't want. It's also extremely hard to find a wedding planner who knows how to properly deliver what the bride asked for. That's why they usually are underpaid and poorly regarded.

As wedding pros, we can either blame it on the bride OR take responsibility and improve the profession. I side with the latter, what you about YOU?

Thanks, @missylove! Your suggestion REALLY helped me! I had started to show those "signs" because the date was coming up FAST and I really felt like I had nothing done! Mostly it's just because you can't decorate a reception hall 3 months before your wedding! I guess I was reverting back to my nesting days during pregnancy. lol :) Thanks a ton! I hope you have the wedding of your dreams!

As a wedding photographer, I can state for a fact that "Bridezillas" photos are not as beautiful as they should be.  The personality shows through in images more than they know.
