I love this idea, my husband and i were thinking about doing paper flowers but we decided against it because we couldn't find any that didn't look cheap. these are great, they look like real flowers! what a perfect idea.

Martha Stuart has directions on how to make these. They are great! And really easy to make! I have used these in place of the kissing balls on manzanita branches. I attached those little floralytes that turn off and on to the inside of the tissue paper and hung them off the manzanita! It was amazing and everyone was in awww of how beautiful they were! I also placed them around the bottom of the manzanita base with the lights pointing up and it left the most beautiful shadows on the ceiling of the event I had done! If you are looking for an in-expensive substitute for kissing balls this is it!

vanhoosedesign - those bouquets are amazing! I would have no idea that they're crepe and tissue paper! I hope my final tissue paper kissing balls turn out as well as your flowers have :D

We used paper flowers to add color to our food, drink tables and salsa bar. It was a perfect burst of color. And didnt look cheesy :-)

Vanhoose! Your bouquets are gorgeous! We have got to swap some patterns! Beautiful!

I'm going the paper flower route as well. I was considering going all paper flowers (60 table arrangements 6 bouquets 12 bouts and 3 corsages...) but I may be hiring a florist to do real flowers on the tables and I'll do paper everywhere else. Mine are out of napkins. Here are some pics:

They are a bit time consuming, especially if you're just learning, but with practice and patience, they become really rewarding. I've come to love making them, let me know if you need help for directions and such. A few of mine were even born out of mistakes and just tinkering around, but I found the original patterns by searching online. (I also sell these on Etsy at marrymerosie.etsy.com if you like the idea but don't have the time/patience to do these yourself).
