Should You Engrave Your Ring?

Your wedding ring is the single most important piece of jewelry you will ever wear. Many grooms and brides have opted to engrave their spouse?s wedding ring with a touching phrase, the wedding date or something else that?s special to the two of them.

My personal favorite is "Never to Fart" from the movie Licensed to Wed (with Mandy Moore and John Kraskinski).  That sounds like a perfect promise to me!

I really don't think you could engrave Tungsten considering that it's so hard it has to be broken in order to remove it in case of an accident because it's too tough to cut. Maybe the lasers used for platinum and palladium aren't hot enough to engrave the metal.

The only reason why I would be against engraving is what If I need to have the ring resized later in life.

We plan to engrave ours with the date , 5-18-10 and 'comet dust'. Our first mooshy mooshy after we said 'I love you" I asked FI how much..... 'more then anything in the world' was the answer. So I asked him 'More then anything in the universe too?" "Yes" "Even more then comet dust?" Of course he said yes! ;)

With our ring we get free engraving with them, and I always wanted it, we will probally put the date in it 10-2-2010 (I would also suggest to put the full year, as I have a wedding band that was handed down to me from 1910, and it says just 10 for the year, and now people wouldn't know it's 100 years old!

We haven't discussed it - probably won't. If we did though, I love "Love Never Fails".

FI had a Tungsten Carbide ring... apparently they can be engraved via a laser.

Our rings may be to narrow (they are actually 2 bands fused together) but if we can have them engraved I would love the date 10-10-10  our monogram pBl and "A Sea of Love"
