Q for Uppababy users

I have both the infant snug seat and the Chicco car seat adapter.  Do I need both?  What's the best and safest way to travel with a newborn?  Using an infant carseat OR using the toddler seat in full recline with the infant snug seat for head and neck support?
TIA!

I don't know what's considered "best" but we use our Graco Snugride30 carseat with the adapter...that way we know she fits and the car seat has been inspected as well...both for proper installation and to make sure we know how to fit her in it properly, meaning the strap height is correct, etc. we have not used the regular stroller seat yet, but we have used the bassinet on walks around the neighborhood. I would consider the carseat with adapter to be "easiest" since she almost always falls asleep in the car...so it's nice to just be able to lift the carseat off the stroller or off the base in the car without having to remove her and take her out ie wake her up!

Thanks Jackie.  For some reason, I don't feel super comfortable using the bassinet because I would want LO to be strapped in.  But you do have a point of using the carseat from car to stroller without waking him.  Did you also get the infant snugseat?  OR do you think it's not worth it since you have the carseat adapter?

No I didn't get that....and we use the Boppy Noggin Nest when we take her for walks in the bassinet...so her head doesn't roll

Ditto Jackie I used the Boppy Noggin thing in the bassinet.

I used the stroller with the car seat until he was big enough to use the toddler seat, probably around 3 months and would recline is so he wasn't straight up. I didn't buy the snug seat I just used a newborn car seat insert that someone gave me at my shower (my Chicco car seat had all the inserts etc).

If you have the snug seat already I would keep it but I would buy it.

I would say easiest is keeping him in the car seat with the adapter.

thanks ladies.  I registered for both and got them but am debating returning one of them since they both serve basically the same function.  I think I'll keep the adapter and return the snugseat.

Using the adapter also cuts down on the bulky-ness of the stroller too!

@Cheeky - I LOVE my Uppababy!  It's made in the USA which is huge for my DH and the customer service is amazing!  I hand an issue with the material ripping on my handle bar, sent them an email, they requested a picture and in less then 24 hours I had a confirmation that a new handle bar was headed my way!
