Question: 1st payment towards reception!!! questions to ask - in person, on phone, email, or letter??

Okay girls so I am writing my first payment of 15% and I haven't had much contact with venue.  Mind you I have 360 days (whos counting!!) and I know there is plenty of time.  Do you think it is cheesy to write a letter asking questions, or should I be more up front and personable with a phone call?

I wanted to thank them, reiterate check#, amount# and what it represents (I do it with all my rent checks lol)....and a list of things that I had questions on like:

Can I have sparklers, flowers on the beach, runners on the beach? a list of the cake places (the cake is included with my price and I get a choice of 11 different vendors/cake styles), Can I increase my count for the food (ie feeding the band & photographers) but not have an impact on the seating and space., etc.

Or should I ask to schedule an appointment to ask these questions in persoN?

I believe that if you can, schedule and appt and ask these questions. Face to face is always better. Also, make sure to get EVERYTHING in writing to protect yourself.

Did you already have your first mtg? If not, be sure to go and do that. I use email as my main method of communication with my venue. This way everything is in writing

omg i asked TONS of questions both in email and in person.  i scheduled an appt to give the deposit, but if you've already had your questions answered, you can probably just mail it in.
