Quick question about veils!

So i wanted to get myself a bird cage veil for the bachlorette party! because their fun, pretty and its better then those cheesy tiara's or sashes or anything. (and their will be no funny penis anything going on for me... i dont like that stuff.) i havent found a veil yet but want a more traditional veil for my wedding. im thinking a longer veil will look nicer with my dress, but dont want to tote around with it at the reception (at least i dont think i do.) so i was wondering if it would be weird to remove the traditional veil before the reception and don the birdcage veil (since i already would have it) for the reception? is that weird? here's a pic of my dress for reference:

So i wanted to photo 3478785-1

you can ignore the veil in the pic as it was just plopped onto my head to give me an idea of what it would look like. (i've also thought about getting a second sash that has more color/color of my wedding) to spice it up and be more fun without having the expense of a second dress... i bought the darn thing, it cost me a lot i should wear it all night long! (though i probably will buy and get something more casual evening for later because i know my FI will not be able to undo the corset back... i should have thought about that prior)

First off just let me say that I love your dress! You look so beautiful!!  :)

I don't think that it would necessarily be weird if you wore the bird cage veil for the reception but a lot of brides just take off the veil after the ceremony so they don't have to mess with it. You may find that even the smaller veil will annoy you after awhile of trying to eat, dance, mingle etc. with it on. Personally I wouldn't wear either for the reception. But it's YOUR wedding and you can do whatever you want to do.

I know how you feel though with everything being so darn expensive for weddings. You want to get every cent's worth of everything! Maybe you could sell the bird cage veil after your bachlorette party? I'm sure that someone would buy it and then atleast you could recover some of the cost of it.

The one thing to keep in mind with wearing the birdcage veil you would wear at the wedding is that you don't want it to get messed up.  And there's nothing weird about switching veils between the ceremony and reception--many brides do that for the same reason you do.  Just make sure that you have budgeted for it; if you haven't, it's okay if you don't wear the veil at the reception.  Many brides take them off, and it's a great way to show off your beautiful hairstyle.

Sure you can leave it out totally at the reception. I did the same. Some people I know got a flower or fascinator to wear in their hair at the reception. I cant stress this enough: the day is all about you, and what you want.
