Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Gardens?

Hi everybody, just joined the forums. Me and my fiance Lindsay just got engaged two weeks ago after being together 9 years. We are working on around a $10,000 budget. We have looked at several venues and the one we are leaning towards is the Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Gardens. We visited yesterday and love the container garden for the ceremony and Gourmet Gourmet seems great for the food bar and decor. The only problem we are having with the reception area is that there is a large building behind it. All of the focus goes to the other side where it is open, but we are worried that a large building might be distracting especially at night if their are lights on. We are discussing with the venue about this, but we wanted to hear from any couples who had their reception there. Was this building a distraction? -Jed

Welcome to PW! Unfortunately, I can't help on this specific question, but maybe someone else can. :)

The venue sounds gorgeous!

Not sure if these pics might help you picture it?

We saw the venue and I think from all the photgraphy we have seen it looks like there won't be a problem with the building. We are just worried that the building will be distracting for guests at the wedding or ourselves. The venue told us it is not a problem though. Just hoping somebody has had a reception there and can set our minds at ease.

If anyone pays attention to the building for longer than a few seconds, then something else is wrong. Gorgeous venue! They'll be checking out the view, you, and your party!
