RAVE: I got my CAKE!!!
So if you recall from my post awhile ago about how rediculous cake costs were (i.e. more $$ than my dress!!!) I have been on a major mission to get a cake for a reasonable cost... In my head, before I actually went and researched, I was planning on spending nomore than $350 ish on a cake.. didnt seem to bad, until obviously all the bakeries told me otherwise hahah. welllll... I went to Ralph's and decided to get 2 sheet cakes and a small 2-tier display cake... but unfortunately they dont do stacked cakes, so i put them on the back burner as a last resort... then we went to albertsons, and they do stacked wedding cakes, but the woman was rude and told me i needed to order it a month in advance (we are 2 weeks out right now lol), when ralphs only needed 2 days.. so i left, again, irritated, and went to a different albertsons. the lady at this other store was super nice and helpful, said they only needed two weeks.. perfect! so i show them the picture of what i wanted and that we wanted sheet cake, she says no problem.. then i tell her i want it to be funfetti.. and she says oh sorry, we only do basic flavors, our cakes are made by a different manufacturer.. uggg... so we decided not to use them because i really really want funfetti.. soooo (sorry this is getting long) the lady referred us to this small little local bakery like 2 blocks from our house, Poul's Place in Orange, that we had never heard of.. we walk in and ask if they do wedding cakes, yes they do.. i show the picture of what i want, no problem... i ask for funfetti, she says of course.. and then do they deliver? yes they do!!!! (we were originally planning on just picking the cake up ourselves from ralphs or albertsons to avoid the rediculous delivery fee) we had amazing service, and the cake, for 150 people + delivery is only costing $265!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAYAYAYAYAY!~!!! im so stoked!!
