Ready to start a family

I used PW for wedding ideas but never joined or posted on any boards. Its been a year since our wedding and decided to come back and join.

I'm (and my husband) ready to start TTC. I hope that I can use this group to gain information and it help in our journey to start a family.

I'm starting to temp and chart my cycle using fertility friend. Trying to be more healthy and cut back on my coffee addiction. I know i need to start prenatals but vitamins tend to make me sick, what are the best ones to take?

Any advise is greatly appreciated as we begin our journey!!

Hi, welcome! Congrats on making the decision to start a family--how exciting:)

It sounds like you're on the right track! As far as vitamins go, I'm like you, they make me sick. I take the VitaFusion Gummies. They really do taste good, and if I take them with breakfast I feel fine all day. They don't have calcium or iron, so once I'm actually pregnant I'll have to switch or supplement, but for right now they work great.

Good luck on your TTC journey, I hope it's a short one!

Thanks, littlebit07! I too hope that its a short journey. There are just so many things that I never thought of that go into TTC. For now I'm going to try and not do Ovulation kits and see how just charting works. I will try out those prenatals this week.

Good luck on your TTC journey as well!

Congratulations! How exciting. :)

I used OPK's the first cycle off of birth control to try to get a sense for when/if I ovulated (we weren't trying the first cycle, as I figured my body would need to "regulate"). The OPK's indicated that I O'ed on CD18, so the next month (our first month of trying) I began using them to test on CD11 and on CD19 got my indicator of O. We DTD for 5 days in that window, and now I'm 6 weeks along. Although the OPK's seemed to work well for me, many ladies agree that it's best to get the "whole picture" ...including temping, charting, etc. Oh, we also used PreSeed... I figured it couldn't hurt! So that's my best "advice" based on my minimal experience.

However you decide to approach it, I hope your TTC journey is short and sweet! Best wishes!

Welcome back to PW!

I've been taking New Chapter Prenatals, they tore up my stomach a bit when I first started taking them, but I was doing that on an empty stomach first thing in the morning. Lately I've been taking them with lunch (my biggest meal) but sometimes I take them with dinner. I've been fine since I started doing that.

GL, FX and baby dust for you!
