Relieved!

It's been pretty stressful trying to plan an OC, Cali wedding from Boston. So last week, I up and bought a plane ticket and went home for five days. During those 5 days I:
Found a reception site
Ordered my dress
Convinced my mom not to wear the black dress she had just bought
Ordered a cake
Booked a florist
Got most of the materials I needed for centerpieces
Got Bridesmaids dresses
Set make-up appointment
Met with the priest for an interview

And still went out to dinner and drinks with friends and family! Whew! Just got back! For anyone planning from far away, if you can, GO to where your wedding will be. I was about to freak out and cancel my wedding otherwise!

And--I sweet talked the restuarant owner into letting me bring in champange and wine with no corkage fee :)

Thanks! I've got 50 people coming on 7-11-08, and I'm having the reception at a Mexican rest. called del Agave. We are renting out the top patio and its super cute. The owner seemed very bitter about hidden costs when he got married (which I read as: my wife did all of the planning and I never knew it would cost so much!) and he totally helped us out with pricing. Yea, I toally needed to get it all done, b-c the date is coming up way faster than I had thought it would. Good luck! I know LA pretty well if you need some help :)

Great job! I'm in the OC, too and I haven't heard of del Agave!

I'll have to look into it for a possible rehearsal dinner locale.

Congrats, I'm jealous, I'm not having a DW and I haven't done half of the things you got done. :)
