sand ceremony help

I purchased the sand ceremony kit, and the pastor had agreed he would do it, although it will be the first time for him.  At our last meeting he told me he usually doesn't say anything during that part of the ceremony, we would just do it.  He said we could write something in the program about what we are doing,  or if needed he could say something.  For those of you who have done this--shouldn't he ecplain the process either while or before we do it.  We are having a singer at that time also, but she could wait until after he speaks.  Help!  Only a few weeks to go.

TIA

here is what we are doing~ hope it helps :)

Dina and Nik, you have just committed yourselves to one another through sacred vows. Your lives are no longer two, but one. To symbolize this joining, we ask that you each pour some sand into this bottle. (Each scoops some sand from the beach and pours it into the bottle. )”

Dina and Nik as you pour your sand into the one container, please repeat after me: “As these grains of sand merge together as one, I merge my life with yours. Please take my love throughout the sands of time. My heart is forever in your keeping.  Dina and Nik as these grains of sand are joined together, so are your hearts, your bodies and your souls in marriage.

Would the parents of the bride and groom please join us for the sand ceremony and pour some sand into this glass container along with your good wishes? That would mean so much to Dina and Nik (Parents then hug each other)
