I am from Santa Barbara and there are TONS of fun spots!  When are you going?  Blush restaurant on State is a hot spot as well as Holdren's Steaks and Seafood.  Tonic Nightclub is perfect bachelorette atmosphere but there are bars up and down state street.  The Canary hotel is a great place to stay since it is walking distance to everywhere downtown.  There are also plenty of wine tasting rooms closer to the beach!

I just came back from Santa Barbara yesterday. We went wine tasting only $ 10 per person sampling 8 different wines. It was very good and we got a nice buzz out of it. They have many winerys to choose from, they are all good. Everything there is to do is on State street. All the good restaurants are on the cross streets: Cabrillo and State street. There are a strip of clubs on State street and lots of shopping it's like an outdoor mall.
