Shipping??

How did you all ship? I have heard DHL isn't the best to their packages, and UPS isn't that much more expensive, which should I go with?

Hey there! here's what they told me for shipping:

DHL Express   US$ 35.47 (5 to 7 days for delivery)
UPS              US$ 42.35 (5 to 7 days for delivery)
Fedex           US$ 63.46 (5 to 7 days for delivery)
EMS             US$ 39.48 (10 to 15 days for delivery)

I went with DHL. In my experience DHL has always been more reliable with packages traveling overseas. They are faster, too.

I think the biggest problem with all of the chinese dressmakers is that they all seem to just wrap the dress in plastic and ship it out. If they would just put it in a box, it would be better protected.

I used DHL, it took a long time from when the site said it went to shipping to when they actually picked it up, but then after that I got the dress in, like, two days. The package came damaged, the dress was OK. I still kinda wished I used UPS just because they're familiar.

Steph, that's on the Dressilyme site..the delay from when it went to shipping to when they actually picked it up. Dressilyme prints the label and it's up to them to either drop their packages at DHL or call and arrange a pick up. The time lapse in between is due to either them not dropping/calling for pick up right away. It gets scanned immediately upon arriving in DHL's hands (or FedEX, UPS, etc. they all do the same thing). So, DHL only had the package for 2 days if it arrived to you in 2 days.  DHL specializes in international shipments I think they used to, or still do call themsevles DHL Global for this reason. DHL expanded to do domestic shipments to keep up with FEdEX and UPS. Whereas UPS/FedEx started mainly with domestic shipments but over the years has expanded to include international shipping and freight as well. I ship packages all day long and have come to realize that atleast in my experience DHL is by far more reliable, cost effective and faster then the others (this is for international packages only, in the US, I never use DHL).

I don't have stock in DHL, lol, I just was hoping to put your mind at ease when it comes to DHL and getting international shipments from them. They are just as well known and reliable, if not more when it comes to getting you a package from another country.

These damages packages...how are they being wrapped?

When you wrap something in a plastic bag...that's the problem with most of the chinese dressmakers, they wrap them up in plastic bags and ship them off. Same with many other companies that ship overseas.

Yeah, it was the plastic wrapping. I certainly don't blame DHL. It was weird it was a clean slice though, not like a snag or something lol. Made getting into it easier.

I couldn't decide whether or not to go with UPS or DHL... I just decided UPS because it is familiar to me - I felt the same as you Steph. I live in the US. I hope I made the right decision!
