shoes

Did you, or are you planning to buy bridal shoes? Or are you buying "regular" shoes that you can wear again?

I bought "regular" evening/dress shoes but I don't remember wearing them again after the wedding. Maybe only once.

I'm really torn. I'd like to buy some nice shoes I can wear again, especially since I would like to invest in them and make them comfortable.

Funny I've been shoe shopping all afternoon.

I wore bridal sneakers! They were so comfortable and it was a big hit. Everyone (especially our photographer) loved it! =)

I initially bought strappy white satin Stuart Weitzman wedding shoes (which I still have if anyone is interested), but then I saw my Manolos and that is when I had "the shoe moment". Since my color scheme is pink and ivory....which are the color of the shoes, and my dress is ivory....I decided to go nontraditional and get the Manolos. I figure I can always wear them again...and better be able to, considering the price!!

I was about to post a new thread about shoes but then I saw this thread. =)

It seems like a better idea to go with shoes that you can wear again and are comfortable (like bridal sneakers!). Question though - do you buy the shoes BEFORE or after you buy the dress? How about before or after your dress is delivered?

I recommend buying the shoes after. I bought a pair of Stuart Weitzman wedding shoes before buying the dress, but now do not have a need for them and cannot return them. After I bought my dress, I saw the purrrfect pair of shoes and had to have them. So yes, after the dress.

I bought wedding shoes (Vera Wang) that can be dyed after the wedding. But I'm a total shoe whore, so another pair of white shoes wasn't a big deal - ha ha.

I bought the shoes after the dress - but they are white while my dress is ivory. My dress is huge and the shoes are strappy so the color discrepancy isn't noticeable.

d1rty--you are the official PW historian I think! :)

It's neat though, getting some historical perspective. We're not the first, and definitely not the last girls to debate shoes and paper and votives and flowers and...

I bought blue suede flats to wear under my gown (I wanted comfortable, but also I wanted some whimsy, and something kinda "Vegas" since we're getting married in Las Vegas... what better than blue suede shoes?)

I actually managed to find them new on Ebay, and they're perfect, and they're obviously something I'll be able to wear again.

:D I'll get a pic tonight (I can't believe I don't have any in my photobucket! *gasp!*)

They're seriously SHOCKINGLY blue (cobalt) suede ballet flats. I'll post up pics tonight.

I love the whole colored (and non-traditional) shoe idea. I think it's just a fun way to inject a bit of individuality. I've even heard of brides wearing customized Converse hi-tops, with ribbons for laces, in colors to match their wedding colors.
