Yay!! I LOVE NYC! I went for a college trip so everything was planned for us. We stayed at a hotel in the heart of times square (it was right next to the W but I can't remember the name!). I know a lot of people love the Empire State Building (I hate heights so I didn't go!) and the Statue of Liberty. During our trip we went to see The Lion King on Broadway and it was awesome.. if you like shows I would def. recommend going to one! We also went to Central Park and walked around, we went to Strawberry Fields (the John Lennon tribute area) and I loved it (but I am a huge Beatles fan!). We also went to the giant Macy's and shopped around a lot and went to 5th Avenue to gawk at Tiffany's and Prada :-) I will say one of the best times we had was at a little piano bar that was off the beaten path and had a lot of locals (it was maybe 4-5 blocks from our hotel). They had a piano man and he was just a riot and was so entertaining, and on top of that drinks were super reasonable because it wasn't in a touristy area. That is just a little about my trip... there is soo much to do there and there is something for everyone!

I agree with meglynn that just never gets old. Make sure you take the horse and carriage ride. Take plenty of pictures. Walk fast and keep up with the pace of NYC life. Go to Coney Island . And remember it is the city that never sleeps there is always something to see and do. Boy do I miss NYC.

Besides those I would say the Museum of Natural History, and MoMA to say the least! So many wonderful museums in NYC. The Bronx Zoo, Greenwich Village has great shopping. If you get there really early Saturday morning at 30 rockefeller, you can get tickets to SNL - they open the line at 7am, first come first serve!

Central park, have a romantic picnic with your DH on the great lawn.

Shopping on 5th ave- 43rd - 60th street. Then 34th street, there's Macys, the Manhattan Mall, huge, Victoria Secrets, Daffys, and a lot more stores. The Empire State building is there too.

If you can, check out Central Park Zoo or the Bronx Zoo.

Definitely walk the Brooklyn Bridge if its a nice day, its a great view and great work-out (wear comfy shoes).

Times Square 42nd Broadway, so much to see! If you can check out a play (on or off Broadway); lots of places to eat! The wax museum is there so is Ripelys Believe it or Not.

Statue of Liberty, so beautiful!

You'll love NYC you can practically walk everywhere, its so romantic at night with all the lights and wonderful weather (since youll be here in Aug). I recommend Soho! I love walking in Soho in the summer, just getting lost looking at all the great neighborhoods and people watch while eating dinner at a near bar restaurant outside.

No matter what you do you'll have fun. Theres always something to do.

Enjoy! I love NYC!

Love NYC.. it's only about a 40 minute trip for me and we go in all the time! It really doesn't get old! If you like cakes and cheesecakes, Juniors (right in Times Square) has THE best red velvet cake on the planet. Their other cakes are all to die for too, but that one is my favorite. The cheesecake is also delish! Go to central park too.. have a picnic there if you can, that would be super romantic :) Chelsea Market is a really great place to go.. they have a bunch of shops in there and a great wine shop which has all kinds of samples!

Beware of bedbugs, though, as they are at an all time high in NYC right now. There is a website that you can check if your hotel has been contaminated, so make sure you look at that before you book anything!

Empire State Building

Statue of Liberty

Go see the Chrysler Building, it's gorgeous.

Walk around and shop in SoHo.

See a Broadway show.

Central Park - Strawberry Fields (the John Lennon tribute area) walk across the street to the building where John Lennon and Yoko lived when he actually died. I'm a huge Beatles fan so this was abig landmark for me.

Macy's, Bloomingdale's, Bergdorf's, Tiffany's, FAO Schwartz

Go to Brooklyn to get pizza - Walk across the Brooklyn bridge.  It's awesome!

Go to Seredipity2 and have frozen hot chocolate.  You can sit at the table up stairs by the fireplace that they sat at in the movie, Seredipity.

Times Square, of course.

Grand Central Station is cool.

You could go to Ground Zero.  I didn't because I couldn't handle it yet but you can go see the memorial being built.

There are a million great restaurants and clubs to go to.

There's really not more to add...except...FOOD!

Pizza.  Yum. I don't have specific recommendations, but you can take a look here: http://gonyc.about.com/od/restaurants/tp/best_pizza.htm

Cheesecake => Junior's is pretty famous.  They have a shop near Times Square.

Steak => Peter Luger's in Brooklyn

And if you guys are foodies, a lot of celebrity chefs have joints in NYC.  I can't attest as to whether they are all worth their salt, but I did enjoy Momofoku.  I was underwhelmed by one of Mario Batali's joints...so much so that I don't even remember the name of it.  Ooo...if you're around SoHo, the French Culinary Institute of NY has a restaurant associated with its culinary school (called l'Ecole)...you can get quite a bit for your money compared to other fancy spots and the food is great.  They have a really awesome wine pairing menu too where each of your courses come with a paired wine.

buuuuuuuuuuuuuump for another NYC honeymooner.  FI has lived all over the world and never been!  my whole family is from there, so I've taken several trips, earliest being in the womb and the latest being an series of odd travel stops between visiting friends & family on Long Island and Philadelphia.  :)

Thanks so much girls!! It's funny because we wanted cheesecake for our dessert for the wedding but our venue's menu doesn't offer it; we asked if they can make it for us anyway, and they can :) cheesecake's my favourite -so Junior's will be a definite must :)
