Simple DIY Decoration - Dried Flowers

My FI brings flowers home a lot, and I'm sentimental, so I keep them all. In fact, he asked me out with a dozen deep red roses, so I plan to do this with those roses as well. If anyone else does this, it might be cute to do something like this project to display them at your wedding. I just did this one with recent flowers to display at our engagement party.

It's super simple. Once you dry your roses, cut the heads off the stems, and arrange them in a tall glass vase. Viola!

I would do this but my FI has only given me flowers 3 times lololol.

If the heads don't stay together you could always use the petals for your flower girl AND it would be something old :)

I LOVE this idea.  How do you dry the roses out though?  I'm sorry that probably is something really simple that everyone understands but I'm not familiar with the process.

I love the color too! So pretty.

Nichole, just leave them somewhere at room temperature, and wait as long as necessary until they dry. Or hang them up. Or something. :D It really is that simple. But simple is often very beautiful, as Ajfisher has shown us. I love it! Very pretty. There's something quite dignified about a dried rose.

Thank you Ria12.  I will try this for sure.  Do you spray them with any type of gloss or sheen before or after?

You can also get real preserved flower heads (roses and orchids) at saveoncrafts.com  do a search.  many on sale. I love this idea as it brings in a vintage/country feeling.

I think that these would look really nice with a vintage/rustic theme too.
