Sizing?

This is a two parter:

The first part: For those of you who had a custom dress- Did you measure yourself or have a professional do it?

The second part: I have completely fallen in love with a dress on the dressilyme website

I literally have not found another dress in my dress-searching that has given me the same feeling. I really want to order this dress but I am worried that it will look funny on me.  I am 6ft tall and plus-size (22/24 ish) . Any thoughts? Should I go with my instinct and just buy it? Ugh... HELP ME Ladies PLZZZZZZZ

Hi! A-line style goes with every shape, beautiful dress! i have messured myself and it worked out right. i would say you better take lacing than a zipper. But if your unsure go to a seamstress and let she make the messurements. Is this dress from the luxury line?

This one is from the afordable line.

According to the pictures, this is a laced dress. I have heard that laced dresses are more forgiving (can go 2 sizes up or down)

Did you try on dresses physically before taking the dressilyme plunge?

I'd get measured professionally (it costs around $10 depending where you are). I'd also go and try on a similar style to see how you like it on you.

I have a friend who is a professional seamstress, and she took measurements for me.

As for the dress... gorgeous. I would think the dress would look good on you. I'm 5'5 and 22ish street size and found the dropped waist was very flattering, but it also kind of depends on your proportions. I would recommend trying on at least a similar silhouette just to be safe.
