Small room with a darn slant in the ceiling!...which way works better!?

Here is a picture to give you an idea of the silly slant we have to deal with!

Here is what I originally envisioned...but see to the left, there's a whole big giant open wasted space. See that wasted space?

So I flipped it... but I don't know how I feel about it...

MEH I just don't know what to do!

Mind you I built, the bed, the bookshelf and the desk yesterday in an 82°F hot and humid room and rearranged the furniture so many times that eventually I was drenched in sweat (gross I know) and gave up. HELP!?

Does this room happen to be in the attic?  I like you have it the first way and yes, there is "wasted space".  If it is going to be used for a guest room, could you possibly put a little wastebasket or maybe just a sculpture-like decoration?

Girl, you are crazy building all this out in the heat!!!  Heat is NO GOOD!  LOL

Thanks Becca, I think I'm leaning your way too. We don't have an attic, so basically our entire third floor had celings that mimic the attic! I let DH take the bigger spare room for his man cave lol.

I had those type ceilings in the house I lived in with my ex.  What a PIA!

You might also want to consider putting a mini corner table if you could find one small enough that could be used as a nightstand.

oohhh noo sorry!!!

then the 2nd option look the best I think....

or...but that's quite a lot of work...you reduce the headboard a bit and turn the bed head against the wall...of it wouldn't be really high but then you could use the empty space for a bedside piece of furniture?
