Im struggling with this ladies! I can't decide what to do for favors!
check these sites for some great ideas:
In total we have 6 favors, Spa Gift Baskets, Caricature Artist, Modern Photo Kiosk, my guest will also take photos to keep on "the red carpet", a Candy & Treats Buffet, The kids at the wedding will have seperate edible/toy favors and also a balloon artist/face painter.
So I will just post links from my bio to them.
The Candy Buffet/Candy Apples/Caramel Popcorn portion of this will be a favor for the guests to take home also.
I really struggled with this too... I didn't want to spend a ton of money on something that people would never use or throw away and although I love the idea of edible favors, were serving dinner, cake and dessert soooo....
We are making a donation to the SPCA in remembrance of fIs mother and leaving a note on each plate explaining the donation.
We felt it was a good way for Jamies mom to be honored at the wedding.
arg I cant click any links...server problem maybe? I'll check back later TIA ladies...chanced idk how you do it all!
Niki, I've been contemplating donations too...mind if I ask how much per guest you're donating?
We are planning on donating approx $3 per person. When I was looking at favors that was about my Max on what I would have spent. I don't know what people usually spend but we are on a pretty tight budget. I say just spend what you would spend on favors anyway.
I will say MrsABC did some great favors... she did chocolate covered coffee beans in little stamped burlap bags... I wouldn't mind having those as leftovers!
I'm going with a candy buffet simply b/c I don't want to spend on something that will be left behind. I know my guests will probably not leave a single piece of candy behind.
Also, this isn't technically a favor, but we are doing program fans b/c it's an outdoor ceremony. I'm putting it in the favor category b/c they can definitely be used again, and I'm 100% sure some of the people on my guest list will be looking around for extras to take with them--as sad as that sounds.
I'm also doing a flip-flop basket to place near the dance floor. I'm including that as a favor too b/c they'll be for my guests to keep & take home. Even though they're technically for the people keeping the dance floor alive, I know some of the people sitting around like a knot on a log will take some too which is fine.
We are having favors and a candy station:
* Sorry, removed by me as I am leaving this site *
Since we are having a DW, I feel as though we really need to pamper our guests.
It will begin with a welcome bag. I am setting up a welcome table in the lobby of our B&B. Re the welcome bags, since it is a biker themed wedding, we are including items one would find in a saddle bag: personalized bottled water; magnets with our logo on it, lip balm, hand sanitizer, snacks of several varieties, aspirin and tissues. We are also including maps and other handouts from points of interest in the area. One of the business are providing promotional pens. Last but not least, in order to get both my riders and my card drivers out of the B&B the day of the wedding, we have a friend navigating a 4 hour ride that will include our favorite points of interest in this area of Vermont.
We are also doing custom lapel pins. Bikers usually put pins on their vests to symbolize organizations they belong to, charities runs they have participated in, and/or places they have traveled on their bike. Our pin is being custom made to include a bride and groom on a bike, our names and dates, the venue, the state of Vermont and moose. I can't post a pic. We haven't decided how we will present these yet. We may put them on the name tags of the welcome bags.
Our edible favor will be part of our tablescape. I am putting maple candy shaped like hearts in a a chocolate favor box. It will go on the bread plate. There will be a leaf beneath it.
If I can convince my FH, I would love to get these maple moose pops and stick them in apples and put them on the sweet table/candy bar. Thus far, he has vetoed the idea.
