So im needing to make my programs..umm asap lol...could you gals gimme some ideas or budget friendly ideas?
Have you thought about doing fan programs? They're pretty easy and since they're only two pieces of paper, pretty cheap as well!
You can use a coupon off of their website and get a kit from michaels and just print off of your printer. SUper easy and way cheaper than custom ordered ones. I just bought cardstock and made ours.
You could keep it simple and just do one page with good cardstock paper if you want to.
We designed ours on Microsoft Word and had Office Depot print them. I made them small enough to where I could fit two programs on a single sheet of paper and had them printed front and back.
We were able to list the order of ceremony on the front and on the back we listed our wedding party, a thank you note to the guests, and the information to upload pics onto our online album.
My husband and I made these from home with our printer! the paper (we needed about 2 reams a piece) was bought from cards and pockets.com totally affordable just time consuming. lol
I don't think I'm doing a "traditional" program. Since they usually get thrown away(except for maybe a few scrapbooking guests) I am going to make one large program on a board. It will be burlap(you can "print" on burlap using transfer paper) and I think one board will have the wedding party and another with the order of events. They will either be on the table in the entrance way or on an easel. Cuts down on time, money, waste and trees!
Nice programs ladies!!
I had no program but a timeline for the wedding party
We did a fan program. Here it is:
I'm still tossed up on programs! I like allison.josh's idea of doing a big chalkboard or burlap program. Every time I've seen those, I've liked them. It seems easy too ;0
I wasn't sure about programs, and now it's too late! Lol. So our guests just get to be surprised by the order of the ceremony and wait until the reception to be introduced to the bridal party. Oops:)
allison-- i LOVE your idea!!!
the church actually offered to print programs for us. it wont be fancy at all, but like it was said before, most of them get thrown away, and i dont have time to make something that people wont appreciate! (when i say appreciate, i mean frame because if i did them my self, i would go all out!!)
@pavez19 How did you make those. I am planning on trying to do programs like those.
I used Microsoft word. Used a landscape page. Draw triangle (3 per page) and them inserted text in each of them. Printed them. Cut them. Assembled and voilà! Pretty easy!
The hardest part was definitly trying to make the text fit in triangles. Other steps took time but definitly easy to do :).
@ pavez19 I'm afraid that I wouldn't be able to cut them even. I have to start working on something. I get married July 28th.
A wonderful married named TheChicBride just sent me a mock-up of my programs, They are so beautiful. She even did a memorial for our parents, The top one is the back, and the bottom one is the front. She is so talented. I love them. Here they are.
We did the petal/fan programs because our wedding is outside and want people to be able to fan themselves if it's hot. We just bought a kit from Michael's with a coupon so I think we spent $40 for all of them (80 I think).
I designed these and put them together all in about an hour. I put the officient, wedding party, time and place, a few words from me, special thanks, and of course a butterfly since I had them on my cake, in my bouquet, and in my centerpieces. I just printed them on white paper and used a glue stick to apply them to red cardstock. Then I punched 2 holes in the top and tied the ribbon. It was super easy and cute.
