So I got a knock on the door today....

...and this is what was delivered... (sorry...don't know why it's sideways!!)

and this is what photo 2944392-1

That there is some meds!  I knew it was coming....but when it showed up, I have to admit, I was a little taken aback! :)  AF should be here tomorrow or the next day so this weekend sometime, I'll be starting those injections and crossing everything I possibly have that THIS time, it will work.  Just hope I don't freeze up when it's time to stick the needle in my tummy!!!

Michelle - This is completely unrelated comment, but we have the same granite!!! EXACTLY the same!! LOL.

Back to the subject matter though - LOL!  Can you let us know what you will be taking?  It seems like there are quite a few things there and it would be nice to get to know some of the injection names so when I hear them in the future it will remind me someone on the boards has experience with them.

What is your schedule for taking them?

Too funny Cat! Although it looks a lot more yellow in this photo for some reason!

I think it looks like more drugs than it actually is. I'll be doing Follistim injections daily but I don't know my dosage yet. AF started last night so I'll probably be going in for an u/s tomorrow and will find out then. I'm guessing I'll do those for about a week or so. The trigger shot is Pregnyl. And then I'll be taking Prometrium pills after O. The bottle says they are 100mg and to take four times per day...seems like a lot but I'll find out more once I see the doctor. They also sent alcohol wipes, extra needles, and a Sharps container to dispose of the needles.

This all got pretty real yesterday when I had to meet with my nurse to learn how to administer the injections...so surreal!

Dont worry I"m on my 2nd round with the Follistim, the needle is so sharp, you will barely feel it, i had the DH do it the first time around, I was actually more scared when he did than when I did it myself..it was easy, peasy! Good Luck!!

Whoa, Nelly! That looks like a lot of stuff but kind exciting, too, I'm sure.
I'm not sure if the needle is the same but the one I used to give myself the trigger shot didn't hurt a bit. I am not afraid of needled but it is a different ballgame when you do it to yourself rather than an experienced professional. It too me 20 minutes to get up the courage to do it but once I did I didn't feel it going in or while I was pushing the plunger.
I really hope this does the trick. I am so excited for you! :)

I think I'm going to do them myself instead of having DH do them...more control that way! And thankfully I don't give myself the trigger...my doctor/nurse will be doing that. I was knd of nervous about having to mix it. And Jackie - no...what email??

the first time DH did it, i balked like a million times....he would say "1....2...." and rear back like he was throwing darts....then finally we just did it...and it was easy....we had a good laugh about it after that!

You'll do great! Some girls leave the follistim out of the fridge for 20 mins before injecting, I did it once and didn't really notice a difference. Inject slowly....if I did it too fast, it burned, not sure if it was the follistim or menopur though =) GL!!

Yes, like Jess said, do it slowly. I meant to mention that in my previous post.
I get monthly injections for a completely unrelated condition and the nurses who administer it, where it doesn't hurt me at all, all tell me it is because they push the meds in super slow. My sister is a nurse and she said some meds will always be a little uncomfortable but the "slow push" helps with most.
Again, soooo excited for you! :)

Yay!  It seems like yesterday I got a knock on the door too!  Like everyone else said, the needles really don't hurt if the medicine goes in slow and steady.  Those needles are so small that it really doesn't feel bad (unlike the way arm blood draws can sometimes hurt!).  Just like Jady I get monthly injections too, and those needles are giantic compared to these babies!  The trigger shot I got came with a HUGE needle, but later on I realized that it was just to mix the two solutions together and the actual needle going into my tummy was still very small.

I'm so excited for this new chapter in your journey!  You have so many loving people in your corner.  I hope this next cycle will bring you want you've been waiting for... I just remember when I was starting my IUI cycle I had some major doubts once I began all of the meds, but you really helped me out and made me realize that this was something that actually could come out with a happy ending... and it did!  You help so many of us!  Now it's your turn!!!  Good luck!!
