So I got a personal trainer...

Hi ladies!

After a bit of debate, FI and I decided it would be a good idea to hire a personal trainer to get me in shape for the wedding... I've never been a huge workout buff before, nor have I ever worked with a trainer, so I thought it might be fun (moreso for me, and to keep me motivated) to write a topic and try to update it a few times with my experiences with my trainer so that other PW girls who are interested might be able to have their questions answered before booking their own!

If you have any advice, or experience working with a PT, I'd love to hear it!!

Here's my advice to working with a personal trainer....DO EXACTLY AS THEY SAY! I've worked with a running coach for 3 or so years and there have been (many) times that I've thought "What the heck are they thinking...maybe they're wrong" and low and behold he's always right (it's a bit irritating actually) whether it be food or workout related.  If you've hired a good trainer and they know what they're doing!

Good luck! You'll be so glad you did this!

I know I am late responding to this thread, but are you still seeing a trainer? I have been seeing one and I am glad I did. It is that little bit of extra motivation and it gave me the direction to know what I should be doing.  I have slacked a couple of weeks (due to life and such) but so far since December, I have lost 15lbs.  6 inches in my waist, 3 inches in my chest, and almost 3 inches in my shoulders.  (I have not lost any of my ta tas, just the back fat lol)  I am finally feeling so much better about myself, and the results are keeping me motivated to keep going.

Hey Ladies,

Thanks for all the advice! I've had two appointments so far, and have one coming up on Thursday. Let me tell you... working out with a trainer is HARD! One thing I realized is he pushes me further than I ever pushed myself, and I'm so grateful for it! He's given me a meal plan to follow, and a workout schedule for each week. The exciting thing is that he's enrolled me as part of a 12-week challenge (through the gym where you can win prizes), and thinks that in 12 weeks, he can get me down 30lbs and 30 inches!

It's been great so far... the workouts are killer, and I'm super sore the next day, but I'm feeling really motivated! I'll let you guys know once I've started seeing some results, but I'm thinking it's a great investment so far!
