So I'm having gown envy.......

I see all of you ladies with such beautiful gowns and shoes and veils and all I have is a sketch lol.  Did any of you ladies have your gown insanely early before yours & his big day?  How soon is too soon?  Where should I stow her away?  Darn you ladies and your beautiful gowns!!!!!!

lol! Actually my dress story is a funny one. I got mine two years before the big day... we hadn't even piced our day yet! I went to a bridal fashion show to check out the current styles... and ended up winning a dress that had been a sample dress! And I LOVED her!!! :) I think if you know it is the one... go for it. :D

LOL I TOTALLY get this!!

In fact, I may be less inclined to open threads announcing dress purchases, fittings etc until its closer to my day (Oct 19, 2013)

I'm so scared that I'll have buyers remorse BUT I'm sure the minute you put it back on, you'll get that "in love" feeling again.

Honestly, I can't wait to see your dress!  It looks gorgeous in the sketch and so unique!

I think it's normal to admire and like other gowns but at the end you will wear the dress that best represents you!! I started looking at dresses about 2 months after I got engaged...I think it all depends on the time you have to plan because If it's for example 2 years from now I would want to wait in case other styles come out.

I looove the sketch you have of your dress! It looks so dreamy and beautiful!

I purchased mine from ebay.  I ordered it somewhere around the end of November and got it just before Christmas.  I will have had it just under a year when we get married - in 85 days!  I've kept it in the closet in the spare room with all my other dresses, but now the seamstress has it to make alterations.

Edited to add:  Your drawing is gorgeous!

I started doing the "maybe someday" looking in my early 20s, and I found a dress that I absolutely loved and thought I would wear one day.  Then, I started looking at dresses shortly after we got engaged, and I ordered my dress ten months before my wedding.  I received it nine months before the big day and had it hanging in its bag on my closet door the rest of the time.

your dress is going o be gorgeous!!! I can't wait to see the real thing! I was looking at wedding dresses long before my engagement! I just love them :) I am known to be a bit indecisive but I don't think I'm gonna change my mind about the gown that I want. When it's the one , it's the one!!

Thanks for the reinforcement ladies but I still have a very long sentence with all of you lovely brides.  Would I seem crazy if I got it five years early?  ROFL  It's being made just for me so I won't have buyer's remorse!  I don't even look at gowns, lol....just my photos (;!

Perhaps I could use the oppotunity to take a big ticket item off of my list of things to pay for!

I do understand I have changed dresses so many times. But I have the one nothing will change my mind. Your dress is beautiful and you will look radiant, and remember your dress is a one of a kind.

Your dress looks stunning, I got my dress around a year ahead, I watch all the bridal shows and everything but I still love my dress.
