I thought this was photo 71359-1  I thought this was cute for the blue part!  My flowers are blue, though so I don't needed it.  For old I'm putting some of my grandmother's pearls around my boquet.  For borrowed I don't have any ideas yet!

KB- if they are your grandmother's pearls they are borrowed!!!!

and the tradition came from...

Old, New, Borrowed, Blue

The saying, "Something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue” is a popular rhyme that has been used since Victorian times. The "something old" represents the bond to the bride's family and her old life; "something new" represents the couple's new life together and their future hope for happiness, prosperity and success; "something borrowed" from a happily married woman is meant to impart similar happiness to the bride; and "something blue" represents fidelity and constancy.

The tradition stems from an old English rhyme. ("Something olde, something new, something borrowed, something blue, and a silver sixpence in your shoe.")  All for good luck for the bride on her wedding day.

Something old: My grandfathers wedding ring

Something new: My wedding dress and everything I will be wearing that day

Something borrowed: My grandfathers wedding ring

Something blue: My blue sapphire necklace

Something old- grandma's pearls

Something borrowed- my future SIL's veil.

Something blue- I am having FI and my name and the date embroidered on a hankie in blue. I want to sew this on the inside of my gown

Something new- dress and shoes

Its totally changed for me from what I planned:

old - grandmother's pearl earrings. Actually we couldn't track down her pearl earrings so I had a pair remade after what I remembered as a child, sort of new, sort of old.

borrowed - ugh I was going to borrow a ring but now I'm not sure...

blue - hankie from OTC with lace edge that says "bride" in blue, initial sticker under my shoe

red (Asian mom) - satin clutch and heart sticker under my shoes

new - dress obviously

YES! And how old is old? Can my sixpence double as something old? I still need to find something to borrow which usually is jewelry but I'm a pearl girl so I just bought my stuff last night!
