Song i'm walking in to...

Hello ladies.

I am having troubles picking out a song that I want to walk into. I really love Canon in D and have always thought that is what I was going to be walking into when I pictured my big day. Here is my dilemma - I am IN LOVE with the song "A Thousand Years" - by Christina Perri. My mom is a beautiful singer and I am thinking of having her sing it while my dad walks me down the aisle. (we are all 3 very close...)

So my question is: do I go traditional or do I go with something a little different that isn't done around my hometown??

Thanks ladies!

Close your eyes when you are on your own in a quiet moment and what song do you hear.

I know it may sound strange, but it is really about what you envision for yourself.

I second Tammy's comment. Go with your gut and that's your answer. I am someone who doesn't like cookie cutter for myself so I'm biased with what answer I'd give you. Both options are beautiful choices!

PS I didn't realize we were date twins! What an awesome proposal story as well! :)

That's my processional song as well! It's all up to you, but personally I'm all for making the ceremony that much more intimate. And I think having your mom sing such a beautiful song will really add that extra touch that will "wow" your guests and make your day that much more memorable.

I also love Canon in D and always wanted to walk in to that too but am getting lots of other ideas as time goes on! I think "A Thousand Years" would be beautiful though as well. I don't really think you can go wrong with either!

Oh gosh I would probably cry a bucket of tears watching someones mom sing while her dad walked her down the aisle. If you go with that make sure you guests have ton's of tissues ready!

Def close your eyes and go with your gut. Who cares if it's not traditional!

I walked down the aisle to Cannon and D.... and ironically I have had A Thousand Years playing on repeat today.... both songs are amazing and you can't go wrong. If you mom can sing A Thousand Years, I think that is pretty special

I'm using this song as well! I think it's the perfect pace and melody to set the happy tone to your big day! If you're still having trouble deciding try on your wedding dress and play both songs. It seems silly but it will really put it into perspective for you! That's how I chose my song!

I had about 5 songs I was considering so I played them and walked down my hallway aisle lol some songs sound great and have the lyrics you love but the tempo might be all wrong. Noone I know had walked down the aisle to a song do it was a nice surprise for my guests. Alot of people mentioned it to me.
I walked to "this I promise you" by Ronan Keating. I had my walk planned to the second when DH would see me lol
A tad OCD hehe

Ps if you want to comibine the two (a modern song but a traditional element) you could use this version it's a violin cover of the song and very well done. 1.29 on iTunes!
