This is my specialty! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Spanish music! Especially Salsa!
Lloraras by Oscar de Leon
Rebelion by Joe Arroyo
En Barranquilla me Quedo by Joe Arroyo
Buscandote by the Latin Brothers
Esta Corbardia by Frankie Ruiz
Vamonos pal monte by Eddie Palmieri
ANYTHING from Gran Combo or Hector Lavoe.
MERENGUE - I would do Elvis Crespo (Tu sonrisa, Suavemente). He's always a hit. My personal favorite merengue band is Grupo Mania (Linda Es, Me miras y te miro)
La Avispa by Zacarias Ferreira
No es una novela by Monchi and Alexandra
Que vuelva by Alex Bueno
Anything from Aventura - they're big now (mi corazoncito, obsesion, el perdedor)
Oh, just remembered too - Aguanile by Marc Anthony!! It's fantastic (but so is the original from Hector Lavoe)
Did any of you see El Cantante?? with Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony?? It was really really good! I would highly recommend it.
thank you thank you!!!!!!!! I have been asking our family for days to get me songs and it hasn't happened. I knew I could count on you guys!
wait! one more salsa!
El Preso - Fruko y sus tesos
Oh.... DLG is pretty good too (Dark Latin Groove)
I like Juliana and Muevete
kohler! sister you know your spanish music! so cute! haha.
i knew prbetsi would be the expert on this one. miss q, good choices!
i also recommend getting the soundtrack to el cantante. or, do like me, i got a "Salsa" cd from like the Discovery Channel store believe it or not. They had a great mix and selection. ITs like from their "Music from around the world" section. I also got an african cd.
yep! i'm impressed! kinda like how my chinese friends family was super impressed in China and Hong Kong when I didnt need a fork at the restaurant and i thanked them for delicious food in chinese. haha. feels good!
ohh a spanish guitarist! i would LOVE to have something like that! with an Alejandro Sanz voice (latin singer with amazing raspy romantical voice).
yeah i'm impressed ash!!! we're gonna try and have a spanish guitar for the ceremony and cocktail hour too. mi hermana!! haha
PRbetsi: You have great taste most of the songs you listed are in my car, haha. I love El Gran Combo and Aventura, my all time favorites are Lloraras by Oscar de Leon and El Preso by Fruko. These are on my MUST PLAY list for my wedding, cause my family wouldn't have it any other way.
oooh thanks! so far i've only found jay alvarez in this area. = )
Thanks Chica! I LOVE salsa music. Yes, Lloraras and El Preso are classics that make everyone want to dance!
honestly?? i cannot remember one recessional song from a wedding i've attended b/c everyone is focusing on the bride and groom going down the aisle, etc. so i think you'll be o.k with whatever you choose.
with that being said, i'd go for whatever you like most. i think it's ok that the song is called triste. (shhh i won't tell ...hehe) it's definitely got a relaxing quality to it...
yikes ash... have you seen this?
whew this one's better
