SPINOFF: Marrieds, why did you STAY on PW?

I thought I'd expand on Becca's post on what brought everyone to PW by asking the marrieds: even after your wedding, why are you still on PW?

For me, I feel that PW is a community that is without judgment -if I have a personal issue, or just need to vent about something I know that I can do so here and someone will understand or even went throught the same thing. I also love PW because it always brings a smile to my face every day -whether it's a comment someone makes or a thread posted :) and of course the biggest reason of all is you wonderful ladies -everyone is so kind, welcoming and beautiful inside and out :) :)

Why do people feel once they are married that is it?

You have formed bonds with specific women and why should you have to leave those people after the I-Do's?

You have just entered chapter 1. Maybe we need a group for That first year. So many things happen in that first year of marriage and having another person going through what you are may help. So, I understand staying for a year or two. Who else does a bride turn to but someone who has recently gone through it.

What about the ones married 5 years, they have been through so many of life's ups and downs. From Conceiving issues to the begining of the baby years.

What about those married 10. I am sure they have stories and inspiration to share and how they dealt with the so called 7 year itch and keeping things romantic even with kids and I am sure a few have chosen not to have kids.

Now after 5, 10 + years the NEW trend and one I hold dearly is the Vow-Renewals.

I think that there needs to be a board for the Life of Women. Single Married getting married Kids.

But this is Project wedding where people form bonds over a single event in a woman's life. I just think that we need Linked sites Like this so we can stay in touch with the women we bonded with during our Wedding Planning phase of our lives.

after that incredibly heartfelt post, I'll break it: while I agree with the bonds, and the positive community, my biggest reason to stay?

I LOVE WEDDINGS!!!

seriously, there are not enough people in the world getting married to satisfy my lust to look at dresses, shoes, venues, and so on. plus, then I can drool over all y'all amazing menus, too! <3 <3 <3

awesome question!!!

1) because i love it here and theres still pleanty to talk about other then planning a wedding with these ladies!

2) im a SAHM, so why would i utilize nap time to do housework when i could sit on my bum and hang out on PW?! ;)

3) i was/am part of another community from my pregnancy, and as helpful as that is... there are tooooo many posts that just scare the crap out of me with all of their parenting theories and things i am doing "wrong". also, for moms, they are the MOST judgemental and drama causing group of women i have ever come across in my life. seriously --- when i commented on a post saying that i was feeding mya formula because i physcially wasnt able to nurse, i thought they were going to call the police on me. very harsh. so i only go there to lurk now.

4) facebook is incredibly boring.

This is such a good post!  I stay on for many reasons - I love the community on here, the support, the advice, the ideas, the friendship.  I just love it here.  It really is a home away from home.

GREAT POST!!! I ♥ me some PW loving!!!!

I agree with everything that everyone said. I love PW, I love the community, I love the people, I love the stories, the support, the friendships and the WEDDINGS!!!

At first I stuck around so I could see the weddings of all the amazing people I had met that were on with me through all my planning and hadn’t gotten married yet, then I just couldn’t bring myself to leave. I know that when I was planning I appreciated SO much the marrieds that had stuck around to inspire me and keep me calm when things got crazy or stressful. I hope that I have been able to provide even ½ of what they all did for me when I needed it.

There is so much that happens on PW that’s not just weddings, although it is obviously the tie that binds and the main objective of the site. From the main forum, the fabulous bios, the great groups, there is SO much that keep me coming back. There is no judging and everyone is so sincere and eager to help. We can debate and have conversations but know that its all our differences that make us such a close community.

I have been married for almost a year and a half and I have met so many beautiful special women on here that I am honored to call my friends. We may not be able to meet up and spend time together but they are immersed in my life as much as I am in there’s. Its fantastic knowing I have people that understand what I am going through and can support me because they are experiencing similar things.

Thank you ALL for making this such a GREAT site. ♥♥♥

Kelly -I'm a SAHM as well, and fully agree with you about using baby's nap time to go on PW ;) I also formula fed Megan since she was 2 days old because at first she wouldn't latch on, then she would attack me and left me cracked and bleeding so badly that I gave up :( I was terrified that my doctor was going to lecture me about the benefits of breastfeeding vs formula since all the resident doctors that I dealt with had but she was awesome and said that a happy mommy made a happy baby :) people were even seeking me out to lecture me -a nurse called a few days after she was born to ask me how everything was going and asked me how nursing was going and when I told her I wasn't, I opened myself up to judgment!

Lorna -Has it been almost a year and half ALREADY!? That's crazy :) I guess time goes by quickly when you're having fun (or have a newborn!) ;)

steph-thats how it was for us too!!! i TRIED for 5 full days. i was an emotional wreck because she latched, i just didnt (TMI alert) lactate! my supply never ever came in. she sucked so freakin hard that i bled. i even tried to pump and not a drop came out. i felt like i was such a failure, espically since my mom nursed my brother and i each until we were almost a year old, so i felt the pressure from her. finally, my saint of a cousin (whose daughter is 9 months older then mine) was like "kelly.. she has to eat. they make formula. its not going to kill her" -- which at that time i was made to believe it was! i kid you not, 2 days on formula and she was a new baby! we were ALL so much happier after that. not to mention, i was able to have a drink, which made made us all super happier! :) :)

Ditto what Jenny said about this being a home away from home!  I have found so many amazing ladies here and have formed some very close relationships.  The Project Marriage group is such an awesome group of lovely ladies.

I agree with the hostesses about not wanting to leave. I know in a few years I will be helping my daughter with her wedding and I will be glad that she will have this wonderful place to go to, or I at least hope she will.

I stayed because I made friends and a support system that started when I got engaged and was here for me when I needed them. Just because I'm married, doesn't mean I need that support and these amazing women any less. PW was a major highlight in my planning and I know they are there for me even after. You gals are the BEST!!!

I havent been that active on PW since marriage. I do come on here and skim through the posts and see if there is something that I can help with or I can share. I love posting updates on Lily cuz she's SO adorable... I also came back on here to join a TTC group.

Ill have to check out the marriage group.
