Sssss Don't Tell Anyone

Most of our days are consumed with everything wedding, when we can rip ourselves away form all of this, what is your real occupation?  your goals, and aspirations? I will start

My name is Jan I am a GED instructor

My goal is to lease a building in the inner city and teach GED Detroit would be my target area. I would have a bus that would pick up the women in that Battered Women Shelters and help them to obtain their GED .

I would have after school tutoring along with a hot meal for the children.

And a recreation center for the young men to keep them off  the streets.

Sorry that it is so long but this is my passion

I work full time at a hospital switchboard and a part time job doing the same things.

I'm currently doing courses via independent study to move from my current full-time position to something else in the hospital.  I've put in too much time to lose my senority.

I am a healthcare management consultant.

I wish I had loftier goals! I just started this position and I'm learning a lot, and loving it so far. For right now I would say I just want to become great at it. I obsess a little about being an expert and right now I feel like the dumbest person in the room because I'm still learning!!

As a result of the wedding and future family planning, I have been thinking a lot about faith and religion and have started going to church and looking into converting to Catholicism (FI is Catholic, as well as my Stepdad). I feel a real affinity for the community that this religion has and so far have enjoyed my adventures in God! So I think first and foremost is to understand my new found faith and for FI and I to begin our lives together sharing in that joy.

Also, FI and I are saving to buy our first home together, so that's another huge focus for us!

That's an amazing goal, Jan!

I am a high school English teacher, currently teaching three classes of on-level sophomore English and three classes of advanced senior English.

I truly love what I do, but I have had thoughts about going back to school, getting my master's in library science, and becoming a librarian in a secondary school.  I worked in a college library as a student assistant for a year, and I positively loved it.  So I think I may enjoy doing it as a profession, but I don't quite know, yet.

Great thread :)

I am a Health and Wellness Coordinator for Verizon Wireless (the corporate health program) so I do personal training and help run the gym here at our call center. The main thing is trying to get more people even interested in living a healthier lifestyle. :/

I honestly am so lucky I came into this job about 6 months ago. For now, this is my goal to stay here and do the best job that I can. Possibly get my masters in public health or nutrition.

I would like to save up for a house (after saving up for the wedding) and finally have our own place to call home! After that...I think we'll want to try to start a family :D

I'm a senior in college, majoring in english and advertising. I would love to open a boutique for 16-30 year old women, and then expand onto that and open a baby boutique. I'm really not sure as of the moment; I may go back to school and get my master's in public relations or journalism.

I'm a dental assistant right now, but I plan on going back to school to become a teacher's aide. I was a (non-certified) special ed teacher's aide for a few months and absolutely loved it, plus I love kids, so it's the perfect job. :)

I'm an HR Specialist.  I really do enjoy my job.  There is never a dull moment with all the employees I work with!

I'd like to go get my masters in Human Resource Management.  I just need to save up the money.  And my FI also want to buy a house after we're married.

Sounds like everyone has so many great aspirations!

I work in the admissions department of a health system. I like it well enough, and it offers great pay/benefits. Lately, though, I've found myself getting a bit bored, and thinking I might like to go back to school. I'm not sure what I would do...I have a Bachelor's Degree in English, so I've been half-heartedly looking into a Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration. I think I would make a good manager or director, but right now with the wedding and home renovations, it's not like there's an extra 30,000 just chillin' in the savings account. So we'll see...maybe once we're married and the house is "finished", and we've had a chance to save some, I'll be more aggressive about pursuing it:)
