ok, I know I'm not getting married, but I know where I'm registering! This is mainly due to all the weddings I've recently gone to. I would pick a variety so that my guests aren't locked into buying something out of their budget. So I was thinking of Crate and Barrel, Target, and Bed, Bath and Beyond. I went with my friend when her and her FI went to register at Target, and they gave her a little goodie bag for their 'Club Wedd' thing. I thought that was neat.

I didn't register at any stores but I've had the best experience as a wedding guest buying gifts from the following stores:

Bed Bath & Beyond & Williams-Sonoma

Many people register at Macy's but I don't think their customer service is as good.

My friend recommended Macy's and Bed Bath and Beyond. She said both were convenient because they are national and have very lenient return policies. I personally went to Macy's but did not receive the best customer service. Our apartment is too small to fit a bunch of new china and pots so we'll probably end up not using our registry anyway.

Crate and Barrel is a really good place to register. They have lots of trendy, cute things. Also try amazon.com especially if your guy likes electronics or other non-typical registry items.

This is a good question - why aren't there ever any "cool" stores that have wedding registries? And by "cool", I mean somewhere where you can get things that both groom and bride will enjoy.

Best Buy comes to mind. Why don't electronics stores have registries? True, you won't buy keepsakes there, but hey, a TV gets used a lot more than a $100 stainless steel pot.

Guys always want a TV for their wedding registry. For some reason though, registries are always plates and kitchenware, etc.

I like mrslarsen's and mavie's charity registries.
