Supplement Question....

Hey Ladies!

So with TTC Cylcle#2 being a bust - I wanted some opinions on what I can do next month to help :)

This month I only had a 10 day LP, and last month I had a 13 day LP... I was researching and wondering if I should start taking the following:

Vitamin B6 - supposed to help lengthen the LP

Angus Castus (or vitex) - also supposed to help regulate cycle and lengthen LP

EPO (evening primrose oil) - also supposed to help regulate your cycle, and can also help with your periods (I have really bad, heavy periods as well)

What do you ladies think?? I don't want to overdo it... so I am thinking about just trying the B6 next cycle and go from there.....and I don't know too much about them either.

I'm sorry to hear you're out this cycle, K :-(

I am also still very early in the process, so I don't know much about most of the supplements. Just wanted to ditto that I have heard the same thing Laurie mentioned about B6 - that you want to be careful with the dosage.

Good luck and let us know what you learn/decide! I hope next month is our month! :-)

I am taking this supplement (not because of a short LP but because I've read that supplementing with 25mg of B6 3 times a day can help keep you from getting morning sickness - as much as I'm on my feet with dog walking/training, I figured it couldn't hurt to try it.) I will say that my LP is always 14 days and last cycle it was 15....not a huge shift and I was surprised that it shifted at all, but maybe due to the supplement, maybe not.

The thing you have to be most careful about with B6 is that unlike most water soluble vitamins, this can be stored in your muscle tissue.  You don't want any more than 100 mg per day, which is probably why the 25mg 3 x a day plus what ever you get from food and your prenatal is the max....

Thank you ladies!! :) This cycle, with the assistance of AuntTate (you are wonderful hon, thank you for answering my questions!) I'm going to just take 100 mg of B6. That's what she took the cycle she got her BFP! We will see if it helps!

I'm going to hold off on the other stuff... except maybe the teas. I have cut out caffeine completely (I had been drinking 2-3 cups of coffee and sometimes soda daily) from my diet and I am limiting processed foods and sweets as much as possible, so I'm hoping this will all help!! :)
