Hi Girls~ How many of you are doing sweetheart tables? Do you have any good ideas (pictures) of how to decorate or layout your sweetheart table.
We are doing one...but i haven't even thought about how to decorate it...ahh! one more thing :) I'll look around and let you know if I find anything...
we are but I'm running behind and out of money today!! hahah Monday should be better. I have 7 days till the wedding.
They moved the florals from my gazebo to the front of my sweetheart table during the cocktail hour. I also made Mr. and Mrs. letters to hang on our chairs. In a few of the weddings I have worked we had a vase that the bride put her bouquet in. At one, we put all of the bridesmaid bouquets along the table. Another time, we reversed the linen color from the rest of the tables. It was the same color as the cake table. Lots and lots of candles in pretty votives. Think like this - if I could afford to decorate every table as much as I wanted, what would I do. Splurge on a pretty vase or something that you can keep in your home long after the wedding.
2.B. Mrs~ I just started thinking about this so it is another thing on my list also!!
Marina~ Girl I am running low on DINERO also!!!! I'm just glad it's payday (though it is going straight to paying my bills).
Pink~ you are good!! I was thinking of having my bridesmaids bouquets and my bouquet as the flowers decorations.
We are doing one... the florist threw in the decoration for the table... its just roses all around the front of the table... should be pretty...
Okay, so if money is an issue, do this - re-use the flowers from your BM and yourself. Think - what other ceremony decor is reusable? My DOC took down all of the hanging vases from our shepherd's hooks and placed them on the bar and other side tables. Take a vase from home that is significant to you - a vase he brought you flowers in - or from your parents. Is there something that you already have that makes you smile when you see it because it reminds you of his love? If so, can you use that somehow?
BTW - my Mr. / Mrs. letters were made with $10 worth of supplies and got a lot of comments. I wish I were home and could attach photos.
I am doing a sweet heart table, and like Pinkgerbers I am going to try to reuse some of the ceremony stuff. I am thinking of doing all white flowers for the ceremony, and I want to have floral garlands, so I'll probably drape them around the table or something. I def. don't want to have too much going on on my table because I want to be able to see what is going on, and I like having space to spread out!! There's nothing more annoying than a cluttered table.
My florist is putting a version of our centerpieces on our table... you could re-use your bouquets accross the table with flowers or even a sign.
Here are some ideas:
Here's how our table looked, before the reception. Of course the red candle holders were spread out on the table later. Then the vase in the middle is where I put my bridal bouquet during the reception, sorry I don't have a picture of the final look....
i'm not sweating this one too much...i figure we won't even be sitting at it too much anyway!
we are doing the black/white damask pattern and raspberry - so we are having all the tables for the guest be raspberry then our table will get a black underlay / black and white damask pattern overlay - to draw attention to our table being special - then I will just be inserting my bouquet into a container - MONEY SAVER!! and having about 6 or so votive candles :)
***HELPFUL HINT**** My florist today made a good point, use lots of votive candles (holders) at your table, closer to you - candlelight makes everyone look amazing!! So basically, in my opinion, use a different color tablecloth, that also relates to your color scheme, than your guests so your table is sure to stand out
We are having as sweethearts table as well. As far as I know it is round. I am just going to have votives, my bouquet and maybe some rose petals. Oh I am also going to have a sign that has Mr. & Mrs. Farley on it. That is probably all I will do.
I agree with the others. Reuse what you have. For example my DOC clipped the hydrangea pew ends from my ceremony and layed them out on my sweetheart table. Votives always look great! You really don't need much to fill the space after all the places, glasses, etc are on the table top.
We had crushed satin underlay and a specialty vine linen on top that was draped in the front. Also the altar pieces were moved inside as well.
I really want a sweetheart table but also really want to be with my bridal party. So I'm thinking something like this. Maybe having the lighting vendor add some lighting under the sweetheart table to make us stand out even more. I dunno. But I've really grown to love this idea more and more.
A caterer we had tasted with said she did some that were higher tables with 2 high chivari chairs and decorate. Its cute, different, and you stand out a tad more??? Just a thought!
- HMM :)
Canopy is kinda cool...
