TANNING BOOTHS

Question for you ladies.

Does it matter if I use a tanning lotion or just put on a normal skin lotion before I tan. I heard that your skin tans better if you using tanning lotion, but I don't know if it matters what kind.

Any suggestions?

Just make sure it says indoor tanning lotion. Use something that has a "tingle" or "hot". Don't use reg lotion cause it will take a lot longer!!

After you get out of shower, put lotion on (reg lotion) will keep tan longer

Be very careful if you do use tht tingle / hot. I did once and my body was on fire for a few hours after. So I would not recommend it. I just use a tanning lotion that is good for tattoos. any lotion will help as long as you are not tanning with dry skin. most tanning salons will let you try the product before you buy it. tanning lotions expensive but keep in mind that it only takes a very small amount. no need to glob it on :) I hope this helps

im gona be the debbie downer and say dont tan! i did it for two weeks before my senior prom, results were great (fwiw i used lotions the salon sold) and this past summer (almost 7 years later) i had to get a suspicious mole removed due to tanning. it appeared shortly after tanning but had only continued to change shape and color. it was located under my arm in an area that only a taning booth could reach. other then being clostraphobic, this confirmed my dislike of tanning booths. id say pay the extra money and get a professional spray tan thats significantly safer for your health

Have you tried just using a good bronzer?

My father has had 6 cancerous skin growths removed and I promise he has never stepped in a booth. They were actually cancer and not just pre or whatever they call it.

Pay for a good massage instead!

You could also look into the self-tanning/sunless tanning lotions that you just put on like regular lotion.

Here are a few that showed up on a Google search from Sephora

I have a mobile sunless airbrush company and have done a lot of investigating into the tanning world.  To be honest, if you are going to tan then using the lotion does not really make that big of a difference in my opinion.  The most important thing is to keep your skin hydrated.  If you are fair skinned, I would not recommend the tingle lotion because from my experience, I burned inside the bed and then continued to tingle and burn as the night went on.

Oooooo i was thinking about tanning. Glad i read this......I would stick with airbrush. I am VERY fair skinned and i got a tanning lotion from sally's becuase i didnt want to spend $50 on a bottle of stuff i would just sweat off anyways. Idk if it actually made a difference or not. I would alternate using a regular and a bronzing bed. I often wonder if the lotion even matters because its not like i can rub it in the places i really need it like my back. And spray tans rub off and if u sweat..... The tan sweats!
