Tea Lights or Votive Candles???

Are you guys using tealights or votive candles? My venue has 115 votive holders, but i'm not sure what looks best in them. This company I found will custom make the candles in colors to match the wedding colors.  So votives or tealights???

Here are the tea lights:Are you guys using photo 211411-1

Here are the votives:

The holders are exactly as the picture above. I fell like the votive candles are too tall, does that make sense? I've looked on other bios and they look shorter. I asked my venue, and as long as they are in a votive they have no restrictions on height.

We are doing tea lights. Clear with our names and date on them and hot pink. There is a huge fine if we get wax on our linens so I am trying to avoid wax spill and I think that votives look nicer in most situations.

depends on where/what you're using them for.. I like votives in general, but tea lights can look good too!

I prefer votives too.  Does your venue have any restrictions on fire?  For me, my flame has to be contained, so tealights won't work, unless they are in a votive.

I like the votives as well, plus they last longer too.

jamiesue-Our venue has the same restriction. The tealights would have to be in the votive holder.

Heartssetfree what website did you use to put your names on them, how cute!

I used votives as well!  I did 3 clusters of 3 on each table (PIB)

I agree about lastling longer too- def no worries about them....

Also ask your venue if you can do tealights, b/c so places don't let you do to safty/ fire regulation since the flame is exposed.  Just an FYI

Our venue offered us free votives for our tables, so I took it. It looked great, and lasted really long.

My venue also has the enclosed flame restriction so we are doing votives. I also just like them a lot better. Plus, you can print your own clear candle wrappers, they have the stuff for them at Michaels!

I would like to use votives, but are the ones in the picture too tall? The votive candle itself is almost as tall as the holder (see pic above), so i wonder if I'll have the same problem with restrictions as the tea lights? Most of the ones I've seen people using are 1 1/2'' tall, and the votive holder is 2'' tall. The ones I like bc they do the cusom color are 2'' tall, just as tall as the holder.

My votives were 2" and candles I think were 1.5"  (I did red votives with white candles)  Do you have to do custom?  You can find the colored candles online or just do white?

I like tealights in votive holders best.  But I would definitely test them first to see if they will last through your entire reception.

lol totally not a wedding experience but if there are kids around, I always use votives-

When I was little I was at a baby shower with my mom and they had tealights out on the dinner table- I was goofing around b/c I was bored and totally got my hair ribbon too close and it caught and I had to HURRY to put it out before my hair caught or my mom saw me or both! lol

so votives, Yes
