Tent Heating Needed?

Hi All,

We're having our wedding at the end of May in the Hamptons (not right on the water). A lot of people have suggested getting tent heating but my fiance and I aren't sure. 220 people under a tent with sidewalls, candles, dancing, liquor, etc ... are we really going to need heating?

Have any of you been or had a tented reception around end of May in the Hamptons (or similar) area? Do you think we'll need tent heating?

Is the tent open or does it have closed sides? That could make a difference. I do know that it can get cold in May, especially at night. Can you ask your venue what other brides have done during that time of year?

 NicoleJuliette,

The tent will have the sidewalls up so there will only be openings for the doors. We aren't having our wedding at a traditional venue, its at an estate so the planning is mostly d-i-y or d-i-myself ;)

I'm going to hire a DOC though ... I'm sure she'll have some ideas too.

Great idea asking the DOC. Have other brides had weddings at that venue? Maybe you can find some and ask what they did? Or maybe the tent company would have an idea, I'm sure they've run into that before for weddings or other events. Good luck!
