TEXAS LADIES! LQQK HERE!

I need your help!

DH & I are flying out to TX next month for his 1/2 brother's wedding. It's in Corpus Christi. I've looked into flights to all the different airports and Houston seems to be the cheapest.

I need to know how far the drive is from Houston to Corpus Christi. Realistically. I looked online, but everyone has a different answer.

TIA! !

hmm i think its about a good 3 1/2 to 4 hour drive. depending on traffic and if your a speed demon lol.

give yourself LOTS of extra time, because you never know how bad texas traffic will be, especially around the airport and into downtown houston, ugh sucks.

which airport are you looking at BUSH or HOBBY?

It's definitely at least 3.5 hours. And Austin is only slightly closer. I think Bush is easier to navigate than Hobby, but if you're headed south from there, Hobby is futher along the way than Bush is. Just don't fly in at rush hour and you'll be all right! Austin is more expensive because it's a smaller airport, but if you fly in there, the only major traffic you'll deal with is in San Antonio.

It's about 3 hours (but coming from IAH it's about 4). I live in The Valley and drive back and forth to Houston a lot. I have to pass through Corpus Christi. The Valley is roughly 2 hours from Corpus Christi.
Did you look into the San Antonio or McAllen airports? Either way, it's a GOOD drive to get anywhere.  :/

I agree with Pwani San Antonio is probably your best bet it's pretty inexpensive to fly into. We went down to Corpus a ton when I lived their & it never took us more then 3 hours.

I looked at San Antonio, but it was expensive.

How far is DFW/Dalls Love Field from Corpus Christi? DH's Dad always uses the Love Field Airport and recommends it.

FAAAAARRRRRR.....Love is the better option if you're flying to Dallas, it's  Southwest hub (home office) but due to wacked-out TX law, you can't fly non-stop into there...you have to touch down in a state that surrounds TX or TX itself before touching down at Love....blargh...

Yea, Dallas would be waaaaaay far away. I always forget that people not from Texas don't realize how seriously big it is. 900 miles across and over 1000 miles long! Nothing is close together, lol. I'd say San Antonio or Houston or Austin...I'm surprised Corpus doesn't have a small airport that connecting flights would go to..

I'm not sure who you are flying, but there is an airport in Corpus Christi, the Corpus Christi International Airport. just a thought. Beside that I think Harlingen Airport (in Harlingen) will be close as well about 2.5 hours to Corpus Christi.

HTH!!

Southwest has cheap flights from Dallas -- if you flew into Dallas -- look into Southwest Airlines to get you the second leg of the trip.  Other than that -- do no go through Dallas, its far, far, far, far, far, far away.

Jenny Corpus has an airport but I bet it is pricey?? I must get a better deal on San Antonio because Denver is a hub airport?? I also agree Houston traffic is just awful & Dallas is too far!! I agree Texas is ginormous. If Austin isn't too pricey it will be just about the same amout of time to drive with less frustration and it is seriously the funnest city in Texas if you get a chance to hang out for a little bit!!
