Thank You Card Etiquette

Okay...so here's my question dilemma. Currently I'm doing my shower thank you's from both FI and I...since he will be attending one of the showers and the gifts are for both of us. My question is...do I sent out wedding gift thank you's before the wedding?? Or do I wait until after? I'm already receiving wedding gifts. TIA!

People want to know their gift arrived safely, so you send the thank you right away.  It is perfectly acceptable to open them, using them isn't.  Some may disagree with me on that second part, but there are good reasons for not using them.  The only exception is cashing checks, do cash them, people don't like it when you don't cash them in a timely manner.

Yeah, I was confused about this also. I recently received and gift and learned that thanking them and cashing checks immediately is fine. I agree with Niki that they will be happy to hear that their gift has arrived safely! HTH!

Definately send out your Thank yous as SOON as you get your gift, regardless of what it's for.  It's proper ettiquette, and it'll save yourself a HECK of a lot of time later on!
