Thank you cards

I know I'm running way behind on getting my thank you cards sent out, but we've been waiting on our pictures to come back, and I'm still not even done editing them. I was curious though- would it be tacky to use postcards since they are cheaper or would I be better off spending a bit (alot actually) more on regular thank you cards?

We were going to use postcards because we think they're cute and modern, but my in-laws wouldn't hear of it (they thought it would be tacky), so we're doing the regular thank you cards.  Zazzle is having a Columbus Day Sale, so we made photo thank you cards there.

I am planning on PostCard style Thank You's... with the bulk paper I am buying it is the most economical in all areas... I do plan to make them special by adding some type of special touch... probably embossing our Monogram & rubbing stamping (I bought several cute ones when Michael's had them 40% off)...

I wanted to do a thank you with our picture - and I'm figuring the cheapest route would be to do a postcard from vistaprint - I can get 100 for just $15.99 - that means customized, printed, and shipped. I thought it was a great deal, right?!

I originally wanted to do a custom postcard but never got around to it.   That Vistaprint deal you listed sounds great!  Plus postage will be cheaper.  I wish I ran across it myself before I used the Kodak Gallery templates.

i just received a postcard.  It was really sweet.  Just make sure that you use the smaller space to write in well.  The letter sent to us was obviously a form letter.  "Thank you for the ______________.  It was so nice to have you with us."  No kidding.  That was the whole letter.

when you go onto vistaprint.com, there should be a category in the left column that says free products (that's how mine is anyway!) click on that and decide what product you want. I went with the 100 standard sized postcards, where I had to pay $9 for shipping and $5 for an image upload.

Hopefully that helps

We did postcards.  We used a pic from our honeymoon because we forgot to use our thank you signs on the wedding day.  We uploaded them to vistaprint during one of their free promos so all we paid for was shipping.  It did let us have the picture across the entire space.  I can take a pic and post it if you want.  We got a lot of compliments on them (and whenever we are at someone's house that we sent it to I have seen it on their fridge). :)

Those are cute Kohler. I just got mine back from Vistaprint - I got 100 for 14.99, I also got business cards and a pen too but $14.99 was my total for everything. I was pretty mad though because there is some sort of red border on the right side of every single card that wasn't shown on the preview!

I was going to do postcards too, but my Mom and other family said it was "tacky."  In the end, I ordered regalur folded cards from vista.  I designed the layout in Microsoft publisher and then uploaded it to VistaPrint.  I ordered during a "holiday card" promotion.  I think for 100 I paid $50 + $7 for shipping.  That includes standard white envelopes.  A couple sites I looked at wanted to charge extra for envelopes...seriously.  For cards, you can order as few as 10 from Vista.  Postcards is 100.

I was going to photo 110988-1

Hello all.

Im actually sending out a dvd that was made for me for my guests. I have a DVD burner, so im buying a pack of dvd's and labels/jackets and sending those out.  Not spending much.  If you have someone recording clips of ceremony/cocktail and reception, i think it would be cute to get it edited.  It doesnt have to be that long.  you can also do this yourself on your computer.  it would cost alot to get it done somewhere.

hope i was helpful.

We did postcards too and they turned out really cute, fun, different!  Who cares if people think it's tacky (which most won't cause you're being creative and fun...it's not an invitation that needs to be formal).  We got ours from zazzle and they were really nice, the picture was glossy like a real postcard, they were nice, and not cheesy like I was afraid they would turn out.

We're planning to do post cards from our honeymoon. We'll be in Europe for nearly a month so I'll be sending them from there. My plan is to pick up post cards from what ever city we're in ..but I'm thinking of just making some with vista print bringing them with me.

oh and I have a few family members who might think it's tacky too..but to be honest..it's my wedding and I can be tacky if I want :)
