I imagine by the time it is all said and done the price will come in between $30,000 and $35,000..... YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The place where we're having it, excluding the flowers, music and photography is approx $22,000 (includes open bar, sit down dinner, apps, cake, and a lot of other little perks)

Flowers, Photography and music I anticipate will add up to another $10,000

Honeymoon- looks like they average around $4,000 to $6,000

Saving..... I am blessed that my parents and FI's parents are taking care of the expenses.... If my FI and I had to pay for it, I think we'd just elope in vegas :)

WEDDING:   30-35000 for 180 to 200 people.

HONEYMOON:  have no idea where we want to go yet.. but probably around 3000-4000

STILL SAVING:   yes.. still saving as much as possible. We have about 10,000 saved, and Fi's parents offered $15,000 towards the wedding also. We have a little over a year to save the rest. :)

This is our budget and plans so far... we havent made any wedding purchases yet, and will pay the down payment for the reception site in september. Hopefully we stick to this (and even stay under).

Wedding:  15 - 20K

Honeymoon:  Around 5K

Still saving, and it's really hard, but I have most of the stuff for our wedding already so I shouldn't have to spend much more.  Only a year  more to go!

Wedding: 7 K ( we'll see if I can pull that off) We're having a very simple beach ceremony and haven't decided on a venue for the reception yet, but our guest list is tiny. 50-60 guests.

Honeymoon- 2.5k ( we're just going to Disney World for a few days)

Still saving: Just starting! yikes!

Don't feel cheap!!  If I could figure out a way to get around all these wedding costs, I would - believe me.   Luckily, we are VERY fortunate that our parents are contributing heavily to the wedding/reception for us.  We are paying for all the things that I 'must' have, which is quickly adding up - and for our airfare/lodging/rental car costs.

No one should feel bad - heck, the money is why half of us are still a year away from our weddings (time to SAVE, SAVE, SAVE!)!

You are so right akbridehi…we should concider ourselves very lucky to be able to have a wedding in the first place right!! In my case its more like Im doing it for my Mom and the rest of the family/friends. Cause we already had our own ceremony for ourselves anyway (n March Thailand). Thats why we want to keep it simple (yet stylish) this time and save the money for the honeymoon.

But YES definitely, we all are THE LUCKY ONES!!

WEDDING: aiming at $30K. I dropped it from the original $45K. ~280 guests

HONEYMOON: unknown. I was hoping to go to Tahiti. But now that a home purchase might be in the near future, Tahiti will probably not happen.

STILL SAVING: definitely.

Since we are paying for the wedding ourselves, we are trying to say under 5K with about 75 guests. No budget as of yet for the honeymoon.

WEDDING: aiming for 15-20K ~ 100-125 guests (the less guests that come, the cheaper the wedding!!)

HONEYMOON: I'm hoping for an all inclusive resort in Mexico... maybe 3-4K

STILL SAVING: absolutely!!

WEDDING: around 10-15K for 250-300 ppl

HONEYMOON: around 3K

STILL SAVING: we're paying everything as we go, and DIYing pretty much everything. Our biggest expense other than photography is the rentals, which is going to be about $3000. Everything else is going to be sold after the wedding to recoup money, so hopefully we'll actually only be "out" 5K-8K not including the honeymoon.

Summersun, the ceremony we had in Thailand was indeed AMAZING! The entire ceremony and everything was soooo dead cheap: 500 euro, about $650 (incl everything, venue, flowers, diner, photog etc etc)……..I can never beat that here in Holland :(
