I only want to spend $5,000.00. Only because we have 4 kids and I would rather spend the money on them than on a wedding.

I hear ya, JohnsWife! Sometimes I just have to pinch myself with some of the numbers that we discuss for the wedding. They literally make my head hurt and keep me up at night!

We will probably be around $20,000 for the wedding, with 150 guests. My parents are paying for about 60-70%, and my FI and I are paying for the rest. We are most definitely still saving!

As such, we aren't taking a honeymoon until our first anniversary. My FI also won't be able to take too much leave for the wedding and honeymoon together, so that works out. We are trying to stay under $3K for the honeymoon.

Wow, I wish I can spend that much. However, we just don't have the money, and all of the money we do have is being used to move to the west coast right after we get married.

Our wedding is under $2000

We are skipping on a honeymoon til later (dreaming of dominican republic) and instead having a night spent at Ace Hotel in Palm springs when we move for a night. So $230 is all we have for that.

I rather se that money for our nest egg.

Well it started at 15k. lol. Now i would say 20-25K realisticaly.

This is for 80 guests, destination wedding and this includes everything..dress, plane tickets, catering, hair/makeup, expensive photography package, all inclusive honeymoon in jamaica for week etc.

Destination Weddings add up too, especially since im from jamaica with tons of family living there.

My parents are giving us about 20K, and then lending us a little less than 10K - which includes the HM. The loan is interest-free, and they said not to worry about paying it back until a year or so after the wedding, but we're just so appreciative that we want to pay them back immediately. We're saving right now.

I can't believe how lucky we are to have them financially and emotionally supporting us, and yet at the same time not pushing their opinions or preferences on us at all. I call my mum and dad "Unicorn" because I thought such a thing was only a myth!

WEDDING: $5000 (for 100 - 125 guest)

HONEYMOON:  $6000 for both of us (Kemet/Egypt - 14 nights - includes our 2nd ceremony at Karnak Temple)

STILL SAVING:  Since my profession is managing money and looking for BIG savings where ever it can be found... It was important for me that we not spend what we do not have already.  So, this is our set budget that we've saved.  The money is there and we're not going over it. LOL (we'll see at the end).  Now, we're saving for when we retrun from the honeymoon to replace the Wedding Account with a Travel Account to be used annually. I'm a nerd when it comes to finances... A blessing or a curse... I don't know.

I think it will come in at about £18K.... ouch. For about 150 guests.

Very much still saving..barely started!! Mum is paying for my dress, shoes, veil and car. An aunt wants to give us $5k but beyond that I think we will be living on beans and water till August. Still, that means I should fit the dress..

Thanks.  My father passed away when I was 13 and this was something that my mother wanted to do for both my sister and I.
