The men are irritating FI and I

So FI told all the guys a looooong time ago that they would all be buying a suit for the wedding. No objections. Then when FI adn I picked out the suits months ago he told them all of the details including price, how to order and when to order. No objections. FI went in to get fitted for his suit on Monday and they told us that the rest of the suits need to be ordered STAT because it's such a popular suit they want to make sure they have it! Plus they need time for fitting and everything. So I had FI call all of them. Well one of his brothers didn't have the money, another one doesn't think he needs a suit so he'd rather rent (it's the same price!), his dad wants to figure out a time when FI, his and his mom's schedules match up so they can all go together to get the suit. Come on!!! My dad has had his suit ordered and fitted for awhile now, our BM ordered his suit. Why is everyone else being so difficult! And we have even been trying to make it easy on them by choosing a ncie suit, affordable and versatile and we bought all of their accessories except belt and shoes because we figured everyone would already own a brown belt and brown dress shoes. HOw do you get people to do what they need to do for your wedding? Why say yes to participate if you're not willing to do what's asked of you? I really don't think we are asking too much. AHHHHHH!!!

I am so sorry you are going through this.  I went through this with my mom.  She didn't get a dress until the week of. The thing was, I didn't care what it was as long as it was short and purple. DH's mom got hers seven months prior.  We didn't have bridesmaids, groomsmen, a maid of honor, or best man because of the fact that I just knew there would be some bumps.  We just didn't want the stress and drama.  HUGS!  All you can do is remind them and give them a deadline.  After the deadline, maybe they shouldn't be in the wedding????  Just explain this.

See, we did give them a deadline and cleared it with the store. At the time they said that would be plenty of time but now they are saying we are down to the wire. FI said he's calling all of them again on Sunday and giving them a firm talking to if they aren't ordered yet. I didn't think we'd have stress and drama with them. Seriously the people we are having the hardest time with are FI's BROTHERS and DAD!!! I'd get it if it were like a buddy or something but his brothers and dad, it seems really rude to me. Thanks for the hugs, I'll probably be venting about this a lot until they are ordered because FI makes me stop venting about it to him because it stressed him out and then all he wants to do is yell at them.

I'm so sorry you had trouble with them. But seriously, the same happened with our GM. Who would have think it would me more complicated to have the men rent their suit than having the BMs taking care of their dresses???? At some point I had to call and order the shoes myself for the three guys because they weren't taking care of it...too bad if it didn't fit...all they had to do was making the call and they didn't so they'll live with it!! Argggg Men!

Get you FI on it with his friends. Men are such procrastinators and have zero concept of pre planning. I’m sure they think you are being a bridezilla (your not) because there is SO much time left (sarcasm). For our guys; I made all the appointments for fittings, went ahead of time and chose it all and made them all go for the fitting and order with me there lol I’m lucky cause DH is pretty on the ball but I still made sure I got it rolling just in case.

Good luck. Men …pfffff

So sory for that hun!

Thank God we don't have to deal with this kind of thins! (We don't have a tradition of BMs and BMs to be coordinated clothing-wise)

Awh, I am so sorry! I think that is one of the hardest parts is actually getting the guys to go and order their tux/suits. Hope they go and get them so they come in! I completely understand, why say yes if you know you can't afford it or willing to pay!?

I'm having trouble with a bridesmaids. Grrrrr.

This is so funny, but NOT in a laughing at you kind of funny!

This situation with the groomsmen is not unlike what you see with some of the bride's bridesmaid dress ordering situation.  What has me seeing a funny to is, that if you told a man that a woman did this it would be, "oh, women".  These damn men are acting like primadonnas!

Same advice:  Give them a final cut off day and then they are left to their own devices and you will have to make the decision to have them removed from the wedding day celebrations. If they can't step up and do what they should, they can step down and celebrate your day from their seats, rather than at the front of the church with you.

Good luck, hon.

Thanks for the help. FI is pretty on top of it but he's dealing with all the bs excuses. I guess if they don't get their suits they won't be in the wedding. :(
