The wedding and your guy

So for some of us our men are having a wedding to please us. What are you doing or thinking about doing at the wedding or RD to show that there is something about him in the wedding?

Well, my groomzilla is pretty much giving the yay or nay on everything, so I think it should be flipped around for me! I'm just in charge of getting what he wants done! ;o)

My FI isn't having a wedding to please me, but to show him that I know him, his personality, and what he likes I am presenting him with a grooms cake at the RD. Also the ice sculpture during our cocktail hour represents one of his family members.

We planned the wedding together - he left the details up to me, but since I asked him what he thought every step of the way he still had a say in everything.  :P

I am doing a XBox groom's cake that will have two of his favorite games, Call of Duty and Monster Hunter Freedom, the Xbox headset, his cell phone and a can of Energy drink all made out of cake at our rehearsal dinner, and I also have a surprise for him, that I have not told anybody, not even PW...he is going to be blown away!

For my Fi the cake topper is going to be recreations of his favorite hobby. He will have a grooms cake at the wedding. Hopefully I can make habenero chocolates to further represent his taste. (He loves all things spicy.) Rum and Coke will be served. It is his favorite. I'm hoping to get him personalized cuff links and shoes for all his groomsmen. My garter is going to be Colts. (His favorite team) I'm working really hard to make him feel like it is his wedding too, although I can't even get him to pick his groomsmen.

He's not having the wedding solely to please me, he's getting excited too! But that's not to say he wouldn't have been perfectly fine eloping :)

Because of his affinity for John Deere and the fact that everyone jokes about 1) Jake loves his tractors more than me or 2) he'll have to sell a tractor to pay for the wedding...

... I decided to have a groom's cake made for the RD in the shape of a JD tractor. I want to thank him in my speech for letting me have my way with the wedding, for putting complete trust in me that I would put together a great day. And then acknowledge that there is not a lot of him reflected in the pink and green theme...and then wheel out the cake as a little nod to something of him!

The groom's cake and garter will reflect his personality. I am giving him some special gifts before the wedding, and also something else at the reception. I am also making sure he invites as many of his friends as he wants, so that he can have an enjoyable night.

We just say that the wedding is for me, and the reception is for him :)

We're making the cake toppers together, picking music and food together, he's picking his own and groomsmen's attire, dj and transportation.  I know he doesn't care about flowers, linens and other such girly stuff, so I will handle that.

I think that we have managed to put a lot of personal touches on our wedding that really reflects both of our personalities. FI has A LOT of input,. Maybe more than he wanted at points but he definitely told me when things where not how he would prefer. He took over the food and drink part lol

He's actually just as excited as I am, and we're making joint decisions (though sometimes I'm having to be the voice of reason, such as cobbler wouldn't make a good alternative to a groom's cake if you can't keep it hot).  He's choosing his groom's cake, he's chosen the song we're using when entering the reception, and he and I have figured out what he and the groomsmen are wearing (he wants black tuxes, shirts, and shoes, and I've asked to have the groomsmen wear a vest and tie that coordinates with the bridesmaid they will walk out with).  We're deciding on decor together, and so I think that plenty of his personal touches will be there.

FI wanted the wedding, because he thought that I would regret going to Vegas and getting married.  He "said" he would do all the work, (because I'm in school still) but he hasnt done much.  He okays things when I show him stuff but I honestly dont think he knows what the wedding will look like at all.

To show him I care (he better already know this though) I am letting him figure out a way to show the Carolina/Auburn game at the wedding. I hope this isnt a big mistake and I secretly hope that he forgets about it so people arent distracted during the wedding.

Tate and I both wanted a big wedding, so he's definitely not doing it just to please me :) I'm doing a few things, one is the groom's cake and my Vikings garter. But we've also planned everything together, so our wedding reflects us as a couple, not just me. :) SOO excited!! 26 days!! AAAH!!! :)

Yes - FI is having a wedding to please me but I believe if he had his way he would be a total groomzilla.  Not only that but if he had his way we'd probably go bankrupt because he gets distracted by pretty things and he has no idea how to make beautiful things appear going the cheap route.  That's why he has me!

But the we've discussed on what type of wedding we want and such and I try to keep our personalities show throughout the planning.  We'll be having a BBQ menu as he's known as the bbq master of his family and friends and I plan on making either a Redskins' jersey or football for his groomscake.  I listen to what he would like/want but like I said he gets distracted with pretty things and has no idea how much it costs.

My Dh helped plan the wedding to an extent.... he never hesitated to throw his two cents in.... Overall our wedding turned out to be a huge fun party for us and our guests and not one part of it was all for me or all for him.... it really was all for us and was focused on making sure our guests had a wonderful time helping up celebrate!

We planned the entire thing together. He wanted me to do the research and then show him what I found. 99% of the time he loved it. The other 1%, we compromised. The wedding reflects both of us equally. :)

He was raised Jewish, I was raised Christian, but neither of us are religious. In order to please his idea of culture and tradition, we'll be having a chuppah and we'll stand on the Jewish sides of the ceremony, but other than that, not too much Jewish tradition.

For the most part, FI has been involved in all the major decisions and I always ask him for opinions on the smaller details after I've already made up my mind - so far, our similarity in taste and style has worked out well.  :)

We pretty much planned everything together. He had input on EVERYTHING. Colors, fabrics, flowers, food, everything. Actually, I take that back about the flowers. I over ruled his objection to Peonies. I wanted them so bad and he said he hated them because he said it looked like the flower exploded. But I got them anyways :). He picked the entire menue for the reception. I put faith in him and it turned out awesome!
