Post your best nature pics here and tell us a little about them.
I don't do a lot of nature, but I do have a couple shots to share.
This was taken in June this year after a short rain shower. The sunset hitting the steam rising from the road made this effect. This is not a photoshop effect, promise. (looks kind of like fire...)
This was taken in FL in September...the seagulls can be a little intimidating wheb they're so close in such large numbers, lol. Bread + Seagulls = bad idea, lol
This is the pier on Okaloosa island in FL. It was pretty stormy the first couple days we were there.
Most of my photography right now is nature related. DH is a landscape photographer, mostly, while I tend to find the details.
This year our aspens in CO were dull and brown and naked when they should have looked like fire across the mountains in orange and yellow. I tried to capture the beauty in them as they were instead of being sad that we didn't have the beautiful leaves we were seeking.
I strive to take photos that require zero editing.
I love the depth in this one and how the mountain peak is poking through:
A naked aspen against our amazingly blue skies
Sulfur at the hot springs in Yellowstone:
A last summer wildflower, fighting the cold of fall:
Brianne I love that seagulls shot - it's incredible
haha, thanks! I'm lucky I didn't get pooped on, lol.
this was taken in june in Napa.
this one is at Edgewood Country Club in Tahoe. Taken this June.
Lake Tahoe from June this year.
central park in NY- May of this year.
California- July 2008
Ooooh Foxy I like the last two best - those are great!
Brilliant pictures foxy! I LOVE the napa and central park ones, esp.

A picture taken at Anna Marie Island, at a beach trip with my wonderful FI
I had just woken up in my tent and decided to open the "doggy door" and saw this beautiful view. Payson, AZ
Hiking on the same camping trip with my FFI
I was in MN with my FFI and took this picture for my sister. It was totally luck that a bee landed there before the shutter closed... I had no idea what I had caught until later that day! :)
Emmy, Those are gorgeous! Love the bee!
WOW these are gorgeous!! :)
I wish I was at home to post mine.. :(
They aren't as spectacular as your guys' but still love them :)
Hammy, You are under strict orders to post when you get home! ;-)
I took these shots a couple of weeks ago at the Japanese Gardens in Portland, OR.
DLOVES! Those have such beautiful colors...
thanks Emmy :-) I really lucked out and chose the perfect fall day to visit the gardens :-) I love the photo you have of the bee! That is a great shot!
Hammy...are you going to upload some of your photos for us?
Wow! Those are beautiful! I want to go there!!
I especially love the last one! It's like something from a magazine!
Thank you brianne! I love that one too! It's one of my favorite ones too! In fact, I ordered a 16 x 20 print of that one :-)
Do you know what kind of tree that is?
I don't really know...I think it's a Japanese Maple but I'm not sure. It's actually not a very tall tree and I had to get down on the ground and under the branches to get that shot :-)
