THIRSTY THURSDAY: tea-infused edition!

The hubs and I are somewhat cutting back on our alcohol intake (when you realize you use it too much as a coping mechanism, you then try to keep it out of the house!), but here are some cocktails that mesh with my new favorite before bed drink: a hot cup of tea!

Winter Fruit Tea

Tea Cocktail

Ingredients needed:

Directions:

  1. Brew the tea. Mix all the liquid ingredients except the alcohol and heat on stovetop or in microwave until very hot but not boiling.

  2. Wet rim of mug or coffee cup with the lemon slice, then and use your Barmaid Drink Rimmer to rim the glass with Lime Tree Cove Gingerbread Cocktail Sugar   Tea Cocktail Recipe OR Fresh Lemon Cocktail Sugar   Tea Cocktail Recipe

  3. Pour the spirits into the mug, and add the hot liquid; stir.

  4. Dust the top of the cocktail with Lime Tree Cove Gingerbread sugar if desired.

  5. Sit down, curl up, and sip slowly.

And even more!!

Blueberry Tea #2

Pour amaretto and grand marnier into a glass. Add hot tea, and serve immediately.

Brian's Belief

1 1/2 oz anejo rum
1/2 oz dark creme de cacao
1/2 oz lemon juice
2 tsp superfine sugar
4 ozcold tea

In a shaker half-filled with ice cubes, combine the rum, creme de cacao, lemon juice, and sugar. Shake well. Strain into a highball glass almost filled with ice cubes. Top with the tea and stir well.

Tea Toddy

Make tea as you usually do. Mix it with the sugar according to taste. Leave room in the cup for a dash of Baileys. Pour the baileys in according to taste, then, if you want, a dash of Whiskey if you want. Not too much though, as the drink won't taste good.

These could even be some classy reception cocktails, and would do perfectly for a bridal shower as well!!

Bottoms up, ladies!

Those look yummy!  DH and I don't drink that much either (it's gotten so expensive), so tea is always welcome in our home.
