Throw aways for church.

Hi Ladies,

Hope everyone is well. I need some help, my church doesn't allow me to throw rose petals or rice when me and my FI walk out. Does anyone have any creative ideas of what we can use.

Thanks guy!

blowing bubbles is the only other one I know. well, Sparklers too- but if the church doesn't allow rice than sparklers have to be out of the question!

I've heard of giving the guests little bells to ring as you walk out - sounds like it could be cute and clean (to avoid issues with the church).

There's something called "Ecofetti" (http://www.ecoparti.com/toec.html)that I saw on Martha - it's basically disolvable confetti. I've never seen it in person, though - could be weird. I like lavendar, myself, but if they won't allow rose petals, they probably wouldn't allow that either. I agree with PP that something that won't be left behind is probably your best option.

I've been to more than one wedding where they did bubbles and it really turned out awesome in the photos.

Good luck!

I like the bubble idea, but does the bubble stain the dress? Do you know what I'm talking about, when it leaves like the bubble soap stain?

The manager of the mansion I am renting said I couldn't do bubbles because it stains the wood, which may be an issue in a church. The rosepetals get ground into the floor and stains. She also said we couldn't have red wine. What a party pooper.

What about releasing butterflies? I know they are a little expensive but my Fi's cousin used them for her quince and only passed them out to the women to let go.

At my sis-in-law's wedding, her church didn't allow her to do much of anything, so I suggested that she had the flower girl hand roses to whomever sat at the end. I think she handed out to like every other isle on each side. It ran very smoothly (it was actually very cute!!!!

It's during the day, right?

Hmm, I was thinking sparklers . . . but the ecofetti is even better.

Would they allow for fake or freeze dried petals? They don't bleed and they are easy to clean up.

The wedding is in the afternoon and my priest won't let me throw anything. Maybe he will let me throw something that disolves. Problem is..they won't disolve right away and they will still see it on the ground. I really like the bubble idea, I'm just afriad they will stain our dresses.

Here's another idea:

Your guests wave them when you walk by and the paper spirals out. These ones were made by a custom stationer called Invite Delight, but you could also DIY pretty easily. I saw ones once that had phrases in French on them (like "Amour") that were really cute.

Hey have you seen the film version of Sense and Sensibility with Hugh Grant? In the end the wedding has ribbon wands, its a British tradition.
Inspiration:

If you're not big on the DIY I don't see why you couldn't use plain wooden chopsticks instead of sawing wooden dowels, they would be a little shorter but they would definitely still work.

They're both from Brides.com: http://www.brides.com/weddingstyle/favors/feature/slide/6344/detail/6353

It may not be your thing, but those ribbon wands would be a snap to DIY.

Here are some other versions:

I'm using Ecofetti for my send off! My wedding is in the morning and it's one of the only things my church will allow to toss. Bubbles kind of made me nervous about staining and like the way ecofetti looks when tossed!

(I'm new on this forum and I'm not sure yet how to post pictures in these posts) But I found these on Ecoparti's facebook page and I'm excited to use it!
