Tired of Waitng (vent)

I am not sure if I am the only here who feels this way.  But, I am tired of waiting and planning this wedding!  I want to be married already!

I told my fiance today let's go to the county registrar's office and get married.  You should have seen his face as he asked, "what about the wedding?".  I told him I still want my day, but I am tired of waiting to say "I do".  I am not a patient person and having to save money month to month so that we can have the money to throw this party is like torture!

I totally know what you're sayin..... and looking back now, I would probably seriously consider having a small intimate ceremony and a big reception later.  I can't help but feeling that some of the intimacy between my husband and I was lost in the big event.....  something to consider. Good luck.

i was just talking to coworkers today.  i'm soooooo ready to be done planning and preparing.  just get here already.  these last two months are moving so fast but oh so slow at the same time.  i told FI we should just go elope but he said that with all the planning that i've already put into it, we can't let my hard work go to waste.  ugh...i'm just ready.

I hear all of you.  But know I am thinking what really stops us from doing the small intimate?  Is it our egos?

Well, I didn't really feel this way until AFTER.... so I would urge you girls to consider it, especially if you are still in a position to change your plans.  I think it would be worth it.  And, I think doing this would have been much more special to my husband and I.   The biggest part of my planning was for the reception anyways, sooooo you can still plan something great.  OR you could even have two ceremonies, a small intimate one for you and your FI, and another one to please the family.

My wedding coordinator says I have too much time on my hands.  I guess my mind is really tripping lately because recently we just decided to change venues from the LA River Center to Verandas do to all the "undercover" costs that we did not think about.  So we are now going through booking a new venue again and it starting to make me think about cutting costs even more and having a more intimate wedding by cutting the number of guests as well.  I have a huge family.  My grandmother has 5 girls ao I have a lot of cousins.  Also my grandmother and I are VERY close and she has 11 brothers and sisters and each of them have children that have children.  My fiance's family is very small.

Sorry for the long reply

My weddings in 23 days- and in hind sight I would never do this again.  It was nothing like I thought it would be and WAY too much money and BS haha

I would have either been alone somewhere saying our vows- or just done a very small celebration...

Kinda sad to feel this way, I wish it didn't have to be like this.  Weddings actually bring out the worst in people IMO, and Im re-evaluating some of my firiends.  I just want to focus on FI and this wedding took away what its really about....

Im in way too deep as beatie said and just have to keep going- 23 days, but whose counting?

- HMM :)

hey HMM, look at it this way.  in 23 days, you will be able to call FI your husband and all this will be behind you. :)  focus on THAT, the important stuff, and everything else will seem like small potatoes...

Haha That is what I told my FI yesterday! I really wanted it to be over, I am just so tired of waiting to say "yes we are married" But we decided that waiting will make it all the better! Imagine when you are craving watermelon for a week and then you get a big juicy slice and take a crunchy bite. YUM! Sort of like that :).

Trust me...I know all about WAITING!  We've been engaged two years, and STILL don't have a date.

And talking about big families...my family is HUGE.  My mother has 12 brothers and sisters (after two died), and my father has 13 brothers and sisters (after 3 died).  I have over 50 FIRST cousins.  And those cousins have children.

And that's just my side.

No ladies!   Wait, plan, and enjoy it all!  I can't believe my wedding is over after 8 long months of planning, staying up late, and obsessiong over details!

We still have a local backyard reception in Oregon next weekend for hubby's parent's friends.  And then.....IT'S OVER!

So enjoy it.  :)

I feel the same.  This is the only specific window of time that I can call him my FI.  So I'm trying to enjoy all the anticipation.  I can handle the planning and even the budget organization....it's the family & friend drama i could do without.
