Awesome!  I have my venue, dress(es) and spoke with a photographer and make-up artist!  We have our candy buffet decor, we will just need the ceremony decor.

Yup, planning is underway!  We actually chose September 3, 2011 as the original date, but had to change it to June 16, 2012!


Venue/caterer, photog, day-of-coordinator, music, and wedding gown all done!

nice!  Im kicking planning into high gear ;)  I was able to complete two diy projects and just need to wait.  My dress will be here next month!

I am very new to this site but trying to get involved.  I got engaged March 1, 2011 an our wedding is June 15, 2012.  I am a full time student and full time job so I had a two week time frame that I was able to do somethings.


 


We got the ceremony and reception, caterer, photographer, did our engagement photos and made books, bought invitation templates, got my wedding dress, selected bridesmaids, designed my place cards, got my centerpieces, started weddding website, meeting with florist next week, picked out baker (Georgetown Cupcakes), got my bridesmaids presents.  


 


I need help with some of the following though:(especially because we are paying for it on our own)


 


1)  I ordered these gorgeous invites, but they didnt come with envelopes or writing.  THey cant be put in my printer for me to do it myself so any suggestions on cutting down costs to get them printed on and where I can get nice envelopes for cheaper?


2)  I designed rsvp cards and thought I would just get them printed out on cardstock by Staples.  Is that the cheapest route?


3)  I wanted to hire a harpist for my ceremony.  I know if you go to the music department at the univesity, you can get a student.  My apprehension is, they may not hold commitment if I book them a year in advance so should I wait until closer and chance not havinga harpist?

Started some planning...we booked our ceremony & venue location, I bought my dress already, we started our website and finished STD's, schedules cake tastings...still tons more to do!!!

We have our venue, (ceremony & reception in same place) we're just waiting on the contract.  I have my dress, shoes, stole and hair flower; FH's kilt, sporran, and shirt.  We've booked the cake, florist, photographer and officiant.  The deposit has been made for the honeymoon.


And still there's lots more to do!

Look at the 2012 brides go!!

Our wedding date is November 17, 2012!  It was originally November 10, but our venue called us saying another couple was very interested in that date and asked if we were flexible with ours.  We were, so when we said "yes, we can move our wedding to the next weekend!" our venue took our room rental fee down to $0 (from $400!) and is giving us a free open bar for the first hour of our reception!  Pretty good if you ask me!

Anyways:
Got the ceremony and reception venue booked (all one place)
Bought my dress
Booked our photographer

....and that's about it.  Now that 2012 is upon us, I'll be kicking my butt into high gear!! 
As soon as we get our e-pics back, I'll be using some of those for our STD's-and those will be designed by a graphic designer friend of ours :]

55 days out from our wedding! I have to finalize EVERYTHING under the sun it seems, gather info for our welcome to Key West letter, tone up my flabby arms, my venue just asked me last week what I would like the staff to wear---so I have that to decide, and didn't even know it was a decision I got to make! And my goal this week is to decide on our cake.

As of today, it's 74 days until the wedding (March 10).  This is what we have left to do:



  • Meet with the pastor to plan the ceremony.

  • Purchase the guestbook.

  • Get the invitations, then address and mail them. We're waiting on my FSIL to get all of her papercraft stuff unpacked from her move.  She said it shouldn't take long at all to get things done.

  • Purchase flowers and bouquet-making supplies for bouquets and bouts.

  • Make donation to charity in lieu of favors.

  • Create pre-reception game.

  • Purchase BMs' shoes.

  • Make hair appointments for me and BMs for the day.

  • Make programs.

  • Purchase things for punch, mints, nuts, coffee, plates, napkins, cups, and forks.

  • Purchase groom's gift.

  • Get our marriage license (planning to do that Feb. 14th).

  • Purchase thank you cards.
