too soon for head count??

When are you suppose to give your head count to your vendor?  My daughter is getting married Sept. 28th and the vendor wants a head count at the end of August beginning of Sept.  Isn't this too soon for a head count?  Because of this we made our R.S.V.P. for August. 15th six weeks before the wedding.

As far as I know it's usually around 3-4 weeks before. FSIL had to submit hers 28 days before (although she contacted them yesterday to make amendments!)

I think every vendor is different. Just ask your vendor when what they prefer the head count. Our venue doesn't need a final head count until 5 days before our wedding!

Every venue is definitely different! We had to give ours 7-10 days before the wedding. Unfortunately the head count will likely change (or people won't show up that rsvp'd yes, or vice versa) so try not to stress out toooo much. It's rather annoying though! Beginning of Sept sounds like you should have a good idea of head count. Good luck

Its usually about a week or two before the wedding. When you start finalizing all the last decisions and details!

Definitely ask the vendor and then make sure you get confirmation from guests ahead of that time so if anyone does change plans last minute you will still be able to tell the vendor in time.
