Tooting my own horn...TOOT, TOOT!!!

LOL!!  We finished the tiling in our master bathroom and I personally think it came out amazingly well :)  Just like the other bathroom we used the glass/stone mosaic instead of baseboards.  We also tiled the face of our bathtub and used the same glass/stone mosaic as the bathtub back splash.  Lastly, we added the glass/stone as a border in the room...that was definitely the toughest part.  I am very, very pleased & I don't think the pics do it justice ;)

1 question though...do you think I should paint the white caulking (around the tile) purple to match the walls (so it blends better) or is it ok the way it is?

love it!!!  i would leave the caulking the way it is.  You will have to re-caulk over time and it will be easier if it is all the same color instead of painted over.  GREAT job!

Looks great!  What a difference tile makes, hey?

With the caulking, I'm not sure.  I agree with aklovesmc that you will have to redo it over time if you leave it exposed like that, so it may not be worth painting over.  However, every tile job I've seen has a trim around the tiles that covers the caulking.  I've seen many different kinds of "trim" so I'm not sure what kind you'd want to go with...

It turned out fantastic, Mel!! I love it!

I agree with the others on leaving it white. It would look nice with purple, but I don't know if it's "worth the effort" nice, kwim? :-)

Plus you have other white accents in the bathroom, so it doesn't stick out or anything. I probably would not even have noticed if you hadn't pointed it out.

Great job!

Very impressive and beautiful!  I would also leave it white.  Is that glass/mosaic easy to do?  I've been looking at this also.

@patches-as a backsplash or in place of the baseboards it is very easy.  As the floor border, no!  That was quite challenging :)

Plumcrush:  where did you get the directions to do this from then?  Did you get them off the internet or did it come with directions that you followed?

@patches-no directions. My dad had done some tiling before and had also taken a class at home depot. We just kinda addressed issues as they arose, but I knew between my father's and my own perfectionism it would come out well :) My dad would occasionally consult with my BIL as well, he has done a lot of tiling.

You are lucky to have had your dad help you!  I'm just so scared to even try.  LOL
