Transportation

Are you arranging for special transportation for your wedding? If so, what are you getting and how much does it cost?

At first I didn't think transportation was a big deal. However, when I told my MOH that we are going to drive our normal cars, she was a little shocked. I guess a limo is expected?

I'm not planning to get any special transportation for my day. Our venue is two blocks away from the hotel. So regular cars here we go. I don't think it's NEEDED.

This is still up in the air for us. When we interviewed our photographer, her portfolio incuded pictures of a bride and her bridal party walking from the hotel to the ceremony. The pictures were lovely...

We are having the ceremony at Old St. Mary's (California and Grant). I'll be staying in a hotel 2 blocks away from our ceremony location so I'm seriosly thinking of walking. The view and scenery around the area (cable car, nob hill, Chinatown) will give us great picture oppurtunities.

I may just have one of our grooms men drive us to the embarcadero for our wedding portraits and then off we go to the reception site.

We didn't need transportation as we got married at a resort and our bridal suite was only an elevator ride from our ceremony and reception sites! It might be nice to rent a limo for you and your bridal party, depending on how far (or how close) your wedding sites are. And if you are planning on making a few stops for photos and all, it definitely will be a good idea so you don't have to worry about parking or anything.

I'm not quite sure what we'll do. I'm ok with driving my normal car around, but Margaret says she may want something nicer.

I did not get a limo. Our GMs drove in our SUV. We rode in my cousin's pearl Escalade. If my cousin didn't have that car, we would have probably rented a nice white / cream color car for no more than $100.

Will you and your dress fit in the normal car? A SUV I can understand, but if you have a 4 door car, I would imagine it would be difficult? Or maybe other brides can prove me wrong?

We got a limo even though I really don't like stretch limos because otherwise an attendant would've had to drive. One of the GM/BIL gave it to us as our gift. So I don't know how much it cost. But it made for less stress in the end. GL!

We're chartering for the wedding day. As for our personal transportation I would like a vintage car. I love the pics of the old cars with signs on them. I'm not sure how realistic it is to have a vintage car drive us from our location to Napa, but we'll see.

I'd like to get a limo to take the bridesmaids and mothers out to the site to get ready, but we'll see.

Our ceremony and reception are at the same place, so that takes care of that. I'm still undecided about how to get around before the ceremony though... I'd prefer to get ready at our house, not the site, and take pictures beforehand. It's only a 10-15 min car ride... so it sounds really silly to me to get a limo, but still I can't picture my MOH driving me around in a big dress!

mzjoym, your walk sounds beautiful! I'm sure that will give you great photos. Pictures of the bride in a "non-bridal" environment are always interesting...
